Pretty nice #Padres debut for Griffin Canning. Five innings, 1 ER, 3 BB, 7 Ks. Got sharper as his outing went on. Last pitched in June 2025, when he tore his achilles, and has had a long journey back to the mound.

Of course. He makes a lot of money and is not hitting right now. My beef is with people (including MLB network) arguing that his value is next-to-nothing and the Padres would have to pay to unload him. He remains highly valuable baseball player.
