Another gorgeous day for walking on the DofE Gold practice expedition.

Fantastic day on the fells for our Gold DofE groups. Some sore feet, but all happy in camp and enjoying their evening meals.

With the recent weather, the group have been working on our eco plantation area to attract more bees and butterflies to the school grounds. We received expert advice and some beautiful plants from @bartongrangegc last year and we are looking forward to seeing this area in bloom.

The DofE participants prepared eco-friendly Reindeer Dust for our school Christmas Fair and for a local primary school, and enthusiasticly helped run a number of stalls at the fabulous FKGS Christmas Fair.

The DofE Volunteering Club has been very busy over the last 4 months. Since November, the students have spent many lunchtimes planting trees, which we generously received from The Woodland Trust.

It is a bit wet! However, all groups making great progress, and are safe and well. With thanks to @GTHamlet for finding an area to keep the groups warm and dry as they finish.

All up and ready for day 2. The positivity of the participants (and staff) makes up for the rather damp conditions.
