#ALERT: Somalia plans to recall its ambassador to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, official sources told us. Ethiopia’s ambassador to #Mogadishu may also leave, according to the same sources. This could happen within days as tensions over South West State (SWS) continue to escalate. This development comes after Hassan Sheikh Mohamud reportedly failed last week to secure a meeting with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed over the SWS issue. Diplomatic sources say that even Mahmoud Ali Youssouf attempted to facilitate a meeting between the two leaders but was unsuccessful. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is reportedly mobilising clan militias with backing from government forces, allegedly supported and armed by Egypt. Some of these militias reportedly arrived today in #Buurhakaba town, about 650 km from Mogadishu. The deployment of militias and forces to SWS is seen not only as a threat to the region and its people, but also raises concerns due to alleged Egyptian involvement. In addition, statements by some militia commanders claiming they may target Addis Ababa pose a serious threat to Ethiopian national security. Tomorrow, Saturday, South West State is set to begin its local electoral process, starting with parliamentary elections, followed by the state presidency. This is the process that @TheVillaSomalia is reportedly trying to halt, but SWS officials say they remain committed to completing it.

Recent reports indicate that Turkish drones are being used in operations against Southwest State forces. This is deeply concerning. Türkiye has long been a trusted partner to Somalia, standing by the country during some of its most difficult moments. Any involvement in internal political disputes would mark a troubling shift from that longstanding role. At a time when restraint and neutrality are most needed, we hope Türkiye will remain above internal divisions and avoid actions that could be seen as taking sides.

Warsaxaafadeed

⚡️BREAKING: Fighter jets, accompanied by the #Somali National Army and the SouthWest state salvation forces, have targeted #AlShabaab militants near the #Daynuunay area. Initial reports indicate around 50 militants were killed in the airstrikes. Meanwhile, pro-opposition soldiers claim they have "advanced toward" #Baidoa, are now stationed 3 km from Daynuunay, and have vowed to oust President @Laftagareen in the coming hours.

President @HassanSMohamud officially inaugurated the newly modernized Dabka Road in Mogadishu today. The project, a collaboration between the government and the local community, aims to boost trade and ease movement in the capital. #Somalia #Mogadishu #SONNA

XOG aan helnay ayaa sheegeysa in Xasan Sheekh uu beryahaan waday isku dayo uu ku rabay in lagu dhex dhexaadiyo isaga iyo Madaxweyne Cabdicasiis Laftagareen kuwaas oo fashilmay. Xasan Sheekh ayaa codsi u dhiibtay odayaal reer GEDO ah, oo dhanka hooyada Madaxweyne Laftagareen kasoo jeeda kuwaas oo uu Xasan ka baryay inay Laftagareen ku qanciyaan wada hadal. Arrinkaas ayaa socon waayay ka dib markii odayaasha reer Gedo ay iska diideen dalabka Xasan iyagoo ku tuhmay inuusan Xasan ballan lahayn. Waxaa jiray isku day kale oo lasoo marsiiyay xafiiska siyaasadda Midowga Afrika, kaas oo uu garwadeen ka ahaa Guddoomiyaha Midowga Afrika Maxamuud Cali Yuusuf, kaasoo ugu dambeyn fashilmay shalay. MUXUU XASAN SOO BANDHIGAY? Dalabka Xasan ayaa ku saleysnaa inuu oggol yahay doorashada KGS ka dhacaysa, balse kaliya uu rabay in loo ekeysiiyo "doorasho qof iyo cod ah" si uu Xasan ugu marmarsiyoodo in nooca doorashada uu rabay la hirgaliyay. Xasan wuxuu dadkii uu la hadlay ku yiri 'waan ogolahay xitaa inuu Laftagareen soo laabto, balse yuusan i ceebeynin ee ha qabto wax u eg doorasho qof iyo cod oo macmal ah". Madaxweyne Laftagareen ayaa xubno ka agdhow waxay noo xaqiijiyeen inuu albaababa ka xirtay dalabyada Xasan ka imaanaya. Doorashadii maanta dhacday ayaana hadda u muuqata mid quus ku sii riday rajadii Xasan Sheekh ee ahayd inuu mar uun la hadlo Laftagareen oo hadda haysta taageerada mucaaradka, iyo dowladaha Itoobiya, Kenya, UAE iyo kuwa reer galbeedka ee ka hawlgala Soomaaliya.

⚡️BREAKING: In a tense and hotly contested vote, #Somalia’s South West State regional parliament has re-elected @Laftagareen as President for a second term, securing 66% of the vote, the regional election commission said. His victory comes amid mounting political and military pressure, with fears that federal-aligned forces who recently left #BuurHakaba could strike #Baidoa in the coming hours.

⚡️ LATEST: Fresh deployments of #Somali National Army forces, including elite units, have on Friday evening arrived in #BuurHakaba, signalling a deepening security buildup in @southweststat amid mounting political tensions. Opposition figures aligned with Federal Government of #Somalia say they are preparing to move toward #Baidoa to challenge President @Laftagareen, raising fears that parallel mobilisations could tip into open confrontation.
