I watched this guy’s Jamaican grandmother, white uncle, childhood friend and feminine teacher plea for his life. Both of his parents were in the military. He’s the only defendant who cried. He also appeared to be the smartest one with the most potential of them all. Considering the “victim” in this matter was no different or better than his assailants I think 25 to life is enough.

I didn’t know about that part but it sounds right. He was a poseur. Rappers are like gods to low level thinkers. I remember people actually thought he faked his death like his posthumous album implied. It’s embarrassing how DUMB so many of us can be. Our collective stupidity and naivete have enriched many.

You know what I really THINK about rap? I think real gangsters made their money actually doing gangster things and rappers make their money pretending to be gangsters.
Even the ones who get caught up in real gangster activity never had any such history on such a level UNTIL they had corporate backing.
Not till they get a bag do they even get the level of criminal access that comes with fame. At best these people were petty criminals before the music. Fame is how they live out their fantasy. Even if it kills them. Ask Tupac. If it took entertainment to make you a gangster you're gangster got an asterisk next to it.

LIES. He was taken down as a WITNESS because someone in his entourage shot the off duty policy who were drunk and fired a a weapon stolen from the evidence room. Nobody said this in 1996. This became a popular narrative over past 10 yrs online. NAS elevated lyrically & became a overall better MC but as a record, this wasn’t even a conversation until about 2015 & the Illmatic is overrated rhetoric started. IWW was never on ppl Top 10 list.
