A superb effort from our Year 10/11 Girls in the English Schools’ National Cup today. Despite the 3-1 defeat to a very good Redborne team the girls played some great football and worked hard to the final whistle. ⚽️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Great to have our PE extra curricular clubs in full swing again. An impressive session for the Year 9 Basketball squad today with 18 students involved in a 34-33 internal match. 🏀👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

A huge well done to Joel who after an excellent athletics season qualified and then finished a very impressive 4th at the English Athletics Championships in the U15 Boys 1500m at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham. 🏃🏽👏🏼👏🏼 (white vest & spikes in the video)

A huge well done and thank you to the 387 students across years 5-11 that have taken part in 142 school sports fixtures during this academic year. We were also delighted at the end of term to present our School Sports Awards.

A big thank you to @metcalfenp & @roystoncrow for once again helping us to celebrate our students achievements. This time it was the annual Y3/4 Schools tennis competition with schools from Royston and Buntingford taking part. Our Y8 sports leaders did a superb job of officiating

A huge well done and congratulations to Miss Stubbs and Mrs Stubbs who completed an ultra challenge walking 50km in one day across the Gower Peninsula raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Two students competed for Cambridge & Coleridge at the Eastern Counties. Joel 🥇1500m in a time of 4.16.1 min, which earns him a place at the England U15 Athletics Champs at Alexander Stadium. Jake as the youngest athlete in a High Jump competition jumped superbly to earn a 🥉👏🏼

Congratulations to Sophie in Year 7 who competed last weekend in the Scottish National Summer Meet. Sophie took part in four events with her best finish in the 200m Breaststroke. 👏🏼👏🏼🏊🏻‍♀️

A big thank you to our Year 6-10 Sports Committee for their valuable contributions to a really productive meeting this evening. Students were given the opportunity to feedback on our PE Curriculum, Extra Curricular provision and make suggestions for new opportunities. 👌🏻

We have arrived & settled in at Condover Hall for our Year 8 Sports Tour.The secret sunglasses swap has been done!We then had our delicious curry dinner. Students now have time to try the evening activities before plenty of rest before tomorrow’s Netball and Football tournaments.

DISTRICT CHAMPIONS 🏏🏆 Congratulations to our year 7 cricket team who won the District Final today. In a competitive game in very hot conditions every player contributed to a very good collective performance. Captain E.Heslam lead by example with 30 runs & 4 wickets from 4 overs

The cricket fixtures continue as our Y7 team win their last league game to finish top of their group and book a place in the District Final next week. Our Y5/6 Boys also enjoyed a competitive day at the Hertfordshire County finals. Lots of progress and fun. 🏏👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Congratulations to our Y5/6 Girls Cricket Team who finished runners-up in today’s Hertfordshire County Finals tournament. Superb progress from the girls throughout the tournament and a 🥈to show for it 🏏👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Our Year 8 Girls Rounders team competed against 10 other teams and some very hot conditions to earn a fantastic 🥉 medal in this afternoon’s District tournament. ⚾️☀️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

A superb day as Royston Tennis Club hosted the annual School Games Year 3/4 tournament. Lewis Endacott, Matt Fellingham & King James Y7 Sports Leaders ran 120 tennis matches with 10 teams competing from the local schools. Well done to everyone involved.🥇Tannery, 🥈Icknield.

Two great quality matches for our Y8 Cricket team this week. Despite narrow defeats there were lots of positives to take including players making their debuts, excellent individual batting displays, maiden overs and some outstanding fielding. 🏏👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
