Here’s the thing. Fandom culture is not dead. What changed was that mean girl types started infiltrating fandom spaces circa 2020. Pandemic forced everyone inside. People had nothing to do, people were bored, people started getting into fandom culture. Of various things. Not just armytwt. And what we see now, is the direct result of that infiltration. Mean girl types, those whose only success was peaking in high school types, the intimidate to get my way types, with their messed up bully mindset and need for control of a space they just joined bc they feel superior is where the downfall of fandom culture began. Then came the social media era, where again, infiltrated by the mean-girl/popular kid type. They want to be ontop of everything. To control the narrative. To be unique. To be famous. To get the most likes, clicks, views, etc. So you mesh the two head butting quality traits together, and thus is born, the fandom culture that exists today. And now specifically armytwt, and why we come off as strict as opposed to army of other platforms?? Most of the qrts are pretty spot on. And all of those answers come under one umbrella and that is bc we are one of the few existing fandoms that refuse to let the infiltrations of these “types” change the core of how we work. Because if we don’t stop a joke that’s gone too far, or let you people go rampant in your “takes”, this fandom will collapse. And the majority of us care way too much about the guys to let irritating narcissist mean-girl-popular-cliche types to takeover this fandom and turn it into a cesspool. Armytwt to this day remains the backbone of army. Everything starts here. Movement. Fan projects. Brand engagement. Even posts and jokes that take off on ig or TikTok by a majority are copy pasted word for word from here. We are the funny ones btw. So we’re not strict bc we want to be. We’re strict bc we have to be. I also know, most won’t read this or might disagree which is fine. I just think “armytwt” as a whole gets a bad rep because people don’t understand why we have evolved to operate the way we do and don’t take the time to find out either. Instead, you just come in and say we’re mean and that we’re no fun and that we have so much rules without taking a second to ask yourself why.
