New semester, starting with new power💪 as Anna Marija Firere started her PhD studies👩‍🎓, aiming to get new insights into plant-soil interactions of crops🧐 Today we collected more than 2000 kg of soil for greenhouse studies! Only possible thanks to #Metk and #AgroCropFuture!

Amazing talks today at #ICOM12! @KatieField4 demonstrating how herbivory determines carbon flow to AM fungi, legendary James Bever showing how the spatial structure of AM fungi determines mutualism success 🧱 and Nancy Johnson highlighting the importance of local adaptation.🤓

And also the great presentations of our Estonian team, John Davison, @PlantEcoEvoUT @sk_sepp!

Absorbing #ICOM12, which started with an awesome talk by legendary Sir David Read. My mind was 🤯 by the talk of @gilesedoldroyd, showing that roots of one plant individual differ in responsiveness to mycorrhiza. Inspired by the herbivory and AMF by connections @frewecologist

Oh boy, what a July! 🤯Collected data to evaluate the impact of non-native plants on soil communities🧐, carried out a field course👩‍🎓 and completed yearly surveys of two @BugNet_research sites🐛. Still sane only because of the best team @UtPlant 🧡

Over the past few days, we took the opportunity to explore the beautiful habitats and ☀️ weather in the best company. Now fully charged for the field season! 💪 Let the summer begin!🍀🌸🪰
