It should probably be a bigger story that Donald Trump offered John Fetterman a significant “financial windfall” if he switches parties and becomes a Republican. I know nobody bats an eye at the corruption oozing out of this White House anymore, but that’s fucking insane, and we shouldn’t ignore it.

@kenzianidiot Omd! That's terrible. Do you have a TV news station that does investigations for things like this? I think the other review would be enough for them to engage, especially when it involves pets.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth made a false claim in his testimony to the House on Wednesday. Then he repeated it in his testimony to the Senate on Thursday. Hegseth said Wednesday: “In 2024, troops were depl… – that was Joe Biden by the way, Joe Biden –  were deployed to polling locations in 15 states." He continued, "2024 – Joe Biden – troops deployed to polling locations in 15 states. Explain that one to me.” Here’s the explanation: Hegseth’s claim isn't true. Not only were all National Guard activations for the 2024 election done by individual states rather than Biden, all 11 states that responded to my inquiries said *no troops* there were sent to polling places. Rather, they said, Guard personnel were in other locations helping with election cybersecurity, doing other behind-the-scenes support work, or not actually activated for the election after all. i feel insane. my dog left the groomer bleeding but i waited to see if it was minor instead of immediately escalating (the groomer was really sweet). then it got infected so i had to go to the emergency vet. i told the grooming company and sent photos of everything, and asked for a refund. they said i “handled it poorly” bc i didnt tell them immediately “like any other person would have” and now they arent going to refund me, they are VERY mad at me, AND i have a sad, sore lil guy who is hurting. like???

@TheRealThelmaJ1 Rudy Giuliani is a sad example of how anything, and ANYBODY, that trump touches turns to trash. Rudy went from being "America's mayor",and a hero of 9/11, to a national joke, because of his association with trump. The "my pillow" guy, and Dr.Phil, are other examples.

Rudy Giuliani was given 100 passes for being the 9/11 Mayor, but his actions around the election of 2020 made him a traitor to the American people. He went to swing states, including mine and he just made shit up and lied to try and get a guy into the White House who lost the election. I think 60 or 70 cases were adjudicated around that election and Trump lost them all. Rudy was one of the few to suffer actual consequences but they were civil and financial not criminal like they should have been. He went from being America's Mayor to America's Traitor, tried to steal our votes and he failed but in the process he did untold damage to our democracy.

The pattern is unmistakable and repulsive. If you keep calling Black leaders "low IQ," you aren't expressing a political disagreement. You are using a racist dog whistle to undermine their humanity. Every single time Donald Trump uses this slur, he shows the country that his politics are built entirely on grievance and bigotry. It’s a disgrace to the office and a stain on this country.

An update: We sold 85 things in April raising $865.62. I’ve requested the payout from Bonfire and will transfer the funds as soon as it hits my account. This was way more successful than I thought it would be. I told my sister I thought we might sell 20 shirts at the start.
Matt Ramsey@OneNerdyOpinion

So I made a shirt. I’m not a graphic designer… but there is a shirt with Dandy saying hi on it available. If anyone buys any this month I’ll donate any profits to @GibsonsConcord ‘s Prismatic Reads Program.

@katieporterca To fix California you will need someone who does not think like a Californian. As a matter of fact, every state would be better off if it behaved like a southerner.

I’m a single mom of three teenagers who do not believe they’ll be able to afford a home in California. We have to build more and build faster so that our kids can afford to stay in California—and that’s why housing will be my number one priority as governor.

@katieporterca Hmm, it's weird. It's almost as if giving away free housing, food, health care, and other services to illegal immigrants and people who refuse to work has had some obvious consequences in the housing market. How odd that an absolutely predictable effect is playing out.

Rep. Boebert says she’s working on legislation to fund the White House Ballroom: I’m working on legislation to ensure we are getting the ballroom funded. There’s obviously a national security element to that, and it needs to be done. Reporter: Is there any better use for taxpayer dollars? Boebert: Are you kidding? There’s hardly any money here that is going to that. He has it funded.

Dear Cheeto-in-Chief: Let's play a game. I'm going to share 24 quotes which have been expressed about you over the years, and you're going to tell me who uttered each of them. I'll provide the answers at the end of this post. Ready? Good. 1. “The American people deserve to know that President Trump asked me to put him over my oath to the Constitution. … Anyone who puts himself over the Constitution should never be president of the United States.” 2. “Someone who engaged in that kind of bullying about a process that is fundamental to our system and to our self-government shouldn’t be anywhere near the Oval Office.” 3. “Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people – does not even pretend to try. Instead he tries to divide us.” 4. “I think he’s unfit for office. … He puts himself before country. His actions are all about him and not about the country. And then, of course, I believe he has integrity and character issues as well.” 5. “We don’t take an oath to a wannabe dictator. We take an oath to the Constitution and we take an oath to the idea that is America – and we’re willing to die to protect it.” 6. “(Trump’s) understanding of global events, his understanding of global history, his understanding of US history was really limited. It’s really hard to have a conversation with someone who doesn’t even understand the concept for why we’re talking about this.” 7. “He used to be good on foreign policy and now he has started to walk it back and get weak in the knees when it comes to Ukraine. A terrible thing happened on January 6 and he called it a beautiful day.” 8. “Someone who I would argue now is just out for himself.” 9. “We saw the absence of leadership, really anti-leadership, and what that can do to our country.” 10. “I believe (foreign leaders) think he is a laughing fool.” 11. “A person that has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our Constitution, and the rule of law. There is nothing more that can be said. God help us.” 12. “I quit because I think he failed at being the president when we needed him to be that.” 13. “He is the domestic terrorist of the 21st century.” 14. “I am terrified of him running in 2024.” 15. “When I saw what was happening on January 6 and didn’t see the president step in and do what he could have done to turn it back or slow it down or really address the situation, it was just obvious to me that I couldn’t continue.” 16. “At a particular point the events were such that it was impossible for me to continue, given my personal values and my philosophy." 17. “…the president has very little understanding of what it means to be in the military, to fight ethically or to be governed by a uniform set of rules and practices.” 18. “The President undermined American democracy baselessly for months. As a result, he’s culpable for this siege, and an utter disgrace.” 19. “Donald’s an idiot.” 20. “Trump relentlessly puts forth claims that are not true.” 21. “We can stand by the policies, but at this point we cannot stand by the man.” 22. “Donald Trump, who would attack civil rights icons and professional athletes, who would go after grieving black widows, who would say there were good people on both sides, who endorsed an accused child molester; Donald Trump, and his decisions and his behavior, was harming the country. I could no longer be a part of this madness.” 23. “I thought that he did do a lot of good during his four years. I think that his actions on January 6 and the lead-up to it, the way that he’s acted in the aftermath, and his continuation of pushing this lie that the election is stolen has made him wholly unfit to hold office every again.” 24. “I think that Donald Trump is the most grave threat we will face to our democracy in our lifetime, and potentially in American history.” So, how'd you do? Just out of curiosity, how many Democrats did you find in this list? Well, I know you're on the edge of your golden toilet, so I'll now give you the answers. 1. Your former vice president, Mike Pence 2. Your second attorney general, Bill Barr 3. Your first secretary of defense, James Mattis 4. Your second secretary of defense, Mark Esper 5.
