Contesting isn't just a sport. It's an expedition. My log, and maybe yours too, tells the real story. It’s not just scores, it’s the grit: scaling towers at midnight (YS1X), jungle-foraging for bamboo elements (HR1B), crafting a CW key out of gum wrapper, aligator clips and a BIC pen (TG0AA) and finding a QTH in a cemetery (V47G, St. Kitts!). For me, this was all before I was 25 years old. Formative years! Those memories—and the occasional scorpion bite—are the thrill that hooks us. All of the above adventures were my solo trips. These days I'm enjoying playing radio adventures with my friends. The Oct-Mar 2025 season is just two weeks away. What crazy DXpedition memories are fueling your prep?
