For @megbasham to use her influence to funnel vulnerable young women who want to serve God into this heavy yoke—one Meg has never borne—infuriates me. Have you ministered to women, discipled young Christian SAHM moms? IME, 1 out of 10 have a wise husband who makes sure she is okay. 2 out of ten women are passive. But 7 out of ten will destroy their bodies and minds trying to do far beyond what is possible, underneath heaps of lies of inadequacy and failure. They desperately need Jesus, who says: “Come to me all you are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” They need the God who Shepherds to take them in and instruct their bewildered husbands: “He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.” Isaiah 40:11 Do you know my Lord, @megbasham? And do you know their life, these women who have baby after baby, no supplemental income, no celebrities bringing them meals when their bodies fail? “They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger.” Matthew 23:4 This is wrong. So wrong. You truly seem blind to God’s precious people, particularly women.
