We have been looking at shapes in Maths. We made 2D and 3D shapes and compared them. We've also been fantastic artists. We looked at some African prints, created some of our own and made some printing blocks ready to use next week.

A lovely afternoon being artists and exploring printmaking with local artist Ronnie Broadley. We pressed objects into playdough and then used the playdough to make prints. A big thank you to Ronnie.

The Year 2 crew have been amazing writers this week, innovating the Great Explorer story. We can't wait to invent our own journey stories. We have also been fantastic mathmeticians. We have worked really hard to understand division. We were so speedy in the fluency challenge.

Great tennis skills in PE this week and amazing perseverance beginning our ferris wheels in DT.

Another busy week. We've done lots of tricky work booklets and we've been working as scientists to find out which ball in school bounces the highest. A nice end to the week with Red Nose Day.

A fun World Book day. The Year 2 crew enjoyed reading lots of new stories, sharing books from home and doing some fun activities.

A busy start to the term in Year 2. We have been practising making amounts and giving change in Maths. We also had a foil tower challenge as part of our Science learning about materials.

A really fun workshop in Year 2 today. A big thank you to the South West Heritage Museum. We worked like engineers to design strong bridges and boats. We also had the chance to dress up.

Brilliant artists in Year 2. We have been inspired by Bristol based artist Emily Ketteringham’s and created our own SS Great Britain pictures.

Year 2 have been great scientists today. We have been running out of paper towels in class so we investigated some other materials that we could use and found out which ones were most absorbent.

Amazing designers and engineers this week in Year 2. We all met the challenge of making a bridge using only paper.

A fun start to our new learning enquiry ‘What difference can a person make?’ We found out what an engineer was and worked in teams to build a bridge using Lego or cubes.

What a lovely day Year 2 had at Chew Valley Animal Park. Thank you to Phoebe for a wonderful visit. We learnt so much about animals and their habitats.

A fun morning in Year 2 making healthy wraps as part of our learning enquiry. We planned our wraps and learnt how to use tools safely. Finally, we made them and ate them. Yum!

Year 2 were great mathematicians today. We used tens and ones to make number sequences and played a game to practise quick recognition.

Some amazing Star poetry from Year 2 inspired by our visit from the brilliant Clive PiG earlier in the week. He encouraged us to look at things a bit differently!
