@faceuh8 A lot of Wes Anderson parody comes from the same place as AI cinema and with the same enthusiasm. “Look! I made a thing that looks vaguely like that thing you like!” and all it does is reveal a deep misunderstanding of why art works or what artists are doing.

One example of why this is a terrible spoof of Wes Anderson is the bit where someone just says "It's Danny Glover!" Which is incredibly lazy off the bat, never mind that the joke seems to be that Glover is in every Wes Anderson movie, rather than just the one.

I'm trying to write more long-form on substack but idk how people write two good articles a week (ideally one free and one paid!). you need the free ones to be good, so people will want to subscribe, and then you need the paid ones to be REALLY good. Idk how CHH does it.

everytime I see somebody discuss this translation it sounds like this: She translates this greek word to mean "murder" when it actually means "to take one's life"
