5) Patience - Give yourself time to test the strategy. Analyze, and create statistics. Don't fool yourself. The theory and improvements might need to be revised. Understand in which market conditions your system will work.

1&2) Learn to preserve your capital using proper risk management (RM) 1&2) Find a strategy, test it. Once you've tested it, improve it. 3) Adopt RM to the strategy. 4) Have a proper, detailed and easy to use trading journal. This will make #3) possible.
