✨The stories we tell ourselves influence how we feel and what we do. Studies have found that positive self-talk can lead to increased confidence, improved performance, better emotional regulation, and greater resilience when facing stress. Especially when feeling the weight of the world, take a moment and tell yourself a good story about yourself. findyourwords.org #findyourwords #selfcare #mentalhealth #mentalfitness #permanentemedicine #health #anxiety #resilience #nature #folsomlake #GraniteBay #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth

✨ "You know, I was terrified. Absolutely terrified. I'd been having these weird pains, and the internet... well, let's just say the internet didn't help. I went to Dr. Ramirez, expecting the worst. But she didn't just rush me through. She sat down, looked me in the eye, and listened. Really listened. And then, even when the tests came back clear, she didn’t just dismiss me. She explained everything, answered all my silly questions, and gave me advice on managing my stress. It wasn’t just about the diagnosis, it was about caring. On this Doctor's Day, I'm just so grateful for people like her. They make the world a better place, one worried patient at a time." Doctors across the world, just like Dr Ramirez, exemplify the utmost care and caring for every patient, every time to fulfill the promise of medicine. #CareAndCaring #Gratitude #DoctorsDay #PermanenteMedicine

✨As a family medicine physician, I use Black History Month as a time to reflect on the significant contributions of Black Americans to medicine and healthcare, and to acknowledge the ongoing health disparities that affect Black communities. Black Americans continue to face significant health disparities, including higher rates of diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. As I look at our organization commitment, it brings me deep joy to note that Kaiser Permenente, powered by Permanente Medicine, is making progress one patient at a time, using culturally competent care, increased access, advocacy and performance measurements. Here are two examples of success: Colorectal Cancer: A study published in the NEJM showed that Kaiser Permanente Northern California has eliminated colorectal cancer disparities between Black and white adults. Blood Pressure Control: A quality improvement program in Kaiser Permanente Southern California nearly halved the racial disparities in blood pressure control between Black and white adults. ✨"Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane." MLK Despite progress, significant disparities in healthcare persist. Dr. King's words serves as a powerful call to action. #MLK #PermanenteMedicine
