I find it illuminating to to look at contemporary responses to the terrible destruction of WW2. Here @river_rowing gives food for thought. Artists including John Piper were closely involved in representing the impact of Blitz. Booklet to left published in 1942. @Portaspeciosa

No charity can replace the dignity of having enough £ for food. But while #foodbanks are needed, having treats like biscuits in addition to standard items like tinned fruit & veg for nutritional balance, can help restore some normality for people during these uncertain times >
