I officially started my position as Assistant Professor at @uiowabiology this week! I’m so grateful for the opportunity and have felt very welcome. I’m excited to be a part of the community. I want to acknowledge the many people and opportunities that helped me to get here.

Last full day at #cellbio2024! If you didn’t catch my talk on Saturday, I’m also giving a poster today at B91. It’s been a real pleasure to represent @uiowabiology for the first time at an international conference!

I officially started my position as Assistant Professor at @uiowabiology this week! I’m so grateful for the opportunity and have felt very welcome. I’m excited to be a part of the community. I want to acknowledge the many people and opportunities that helped me to get here.

While a long thread, this really only addresses my research career. I’ve been lucky to have many friends, an endlessly supportive spouse, and other experiences that have shaped me. I’m so thankful for all of the support I’ve had, and I plan to pay it forward at every opportunity.

So many others helped me on this journey: writing letters, advocating for me, sharing scientific insights, advising me, and more. Thank you to just a few of those people: @UVADeanJWest, @peiferlabunc, @TanentzapfLab, @BergstralhLab, @JocMcDonald, @negberry. The list could go on.
