Democrats holding elected Democrats to a higher standard than elected Republicans is how this all should work. Only elected Democrats and their underlings would find this shocking and troubling.

I'm sympathetic to the argument that campus organizing has been impacted by crackdowns on free speech. (I'll remind you, ironically, the very thing the media spent huge resources accusing liberals of.) But that doesn't explain why Harris is still to this day the subject of far more protest during public appearances than any Republican, despite no longer holding office. The fact is that Democrats are indeed held to a higher standard than Republicans, and organizers cannot avoid acknowledging this.
