H.E. Dagny Mjøs, Ambassador of Norway to Nepal, along with Kyoko Yokosuka, @UNDP Nepal Resident Representative inaugurated the Dhaulapani Lift Irrigation System in Jumla today. Implemented through the Renewable Energy for Resilient Agri-Food Systems (RERAS) project, in partnership with the Alternative Energy Promotion Centre, the lift irrigation system provides farmers in Tatopani Rural Municipality with reliable irrigation water. This support is helping households boost the production and consumption of indigenous crops and fresh vegetables, improving food and nutrition security in the region. So far, households have already benefitted from 22kW of energy, enabling irrigation that has produced 47 metric ton of crops. By integrating renewable energy into agriculture, RERAS aims to directly support 10,000 households and improve access to clean energy for more than 15,000 people. #Energy4Food #PartnersAtCore
