A study published in @JTraumAcuteSurg this month evaluated 80 patients that died after blunt trauma prehospital and in the ED and had a post-mortem CT scan performed. TBI was the most common at 40%... okay, not much we can do about that. ~1 in 4 had blood in the belly ~1 in 5 had a major hemo/ pneumothorax 5% had an ET tube in the goose Potentially some maybe salvaged with blood.
