@DV_NSW @CEONTVorg @WomensAgenda Delia, that’s why our programs at KWY work so well. They’re culturally safe, & we work with the entire family, mums, children and the dads who use violence It’s not just about non-Aboriginal orgs having an Aboriginal advisor,it’s about building capacity of ACCOs that do this work

The value of rehab for violent offenders.Of note is Aboriginal offenders did sig better with treatment.Probably no surprise given the lack access to mental health interventions for Aboriginal ppl. The value of selected intervention to high risk cohorts would be an important study

"Never assume, always ask." This sentiment underpins the Cultural Understanding, Better Engagement (CUBE) training. Facilitated by Craig Rigney, CEO of KWY, the training has opened doors for honest, open conversations & has been welcomed by 250 staff at Junction Australia.

Politics has no place in Suicide prevention Yet it drives every single funding decision If funding decisions were made based on evidence of suicide risk reduction we would see a very different reality in our Indigenous communities

#RaiseTheAge Why does incarceration increase rather than decrease the odds of future criminality? Well, it’s predominantly about the stage of development. First kids this age don’t fully understand consequences of behaviours in the same way as adults 1/14

What a privilege to see the Place of Courage memorial today. My love & thanks to Helen Oxenham who has worked for decades to keep women and children safe, to support survivors and to remember victims of #DV. An emotional morning ⁦@KatrineHildyard⁩ ⁦@mollyfisher4
