My theory is that these are not just jeans, they’re made with a specially expensive type of fabric that they created to look like jeans, same with the top - and it’s an emphasis on how in art you don’t need all the over the top theatrics and over the top creations for it to be considered something of value, or something intentionally curated. It’s like that scene from Devil wears Prada where Miranda explains to her that it’s not just blue, it’s cerulean, and it’s what determined what was gonna be the trend of the season from the expensive runways to the cheap department stores.
