A little birdie tells me that CM sahib called on the Home Minister recently. And the photo that emerged out of the meeting was CM sahib like an overexcited marathoner grinning from ear to ear, handing over a bouquet, ostensibly congratulating the BJP for the recent electoral meeting. In the meeting CM sahib apparently complained about the time taken for clearing the Reservation file. And apparently yet again CM sahib was informed that the file has been despatched 3 weeks back. Nobody it seems told CM sahib. And yet again, yet again apparently the Centre has queried as to how the sub Committe came to the conclusions that have been forwarded. Very humbly may I state. I had asked the same question in assembly and asserted that there is no evidence of research. The recommendations sent should have been a research backed document based on scientific evidence. Anyways. God bless those who voted them to power 🤔

How can you give a clean chit to a party which abstained during voting on Triple Talaq?

This chocolate boy thinks Rs 800 blue tick makes him an authority on Kashmir who can give clean chits. Learn the difference between an open ballot and a secret ballot first. You need a blue tick and a fake name like Mr. X to impress politicians.

I did not want to get into the NC or PDP cross voting for the BJP in the Rajya Sabha elections debate because it is built on a petty & lame argument, but I have one question for those pushing that narrative. If the authorised agents were NC’s own people, how does that ensure there was no cross voting, especially if the top leadership had authorised both the voters and the agents to secretly vote for BJP? Does anyone know who these agents authorized by NC exactly were? And since the agents were not from the opposition, can it decisively be said that NC did not cross vote and PDP did, merely because a random journalist relying on an RTI claims it is “unlikely” for NC to have cross voted? The National Conference leadership capitalising on this argument is not the only issue. The bigger problem is the people who are giving them a clean chit without a shred of proof. They are responsible for whitewashing a potential betrayal based on zero evidence. From what I can understand, even today, and even after that RTI response was used to build a narrative, there is no proof that PDP voted for the BJP, but there is also no proof that NC did not do so. A random journalist saying “it’s unlikely” may convince some, but it cannot fool those who think beyond political binaries.

And I will tell you how your tweet helps those who locked this Darul Aloom. They will tell the whole world that we are fair people. Look at Mirwaiz. Did we arrest him. And we are so liberal that he has the space to Criticise us. That is what your role is now.

The Nasha Mukth Abhiyan is such an important step. My thanks to the Honourable @manojsinha_ Ji. I have been a social welfare minister in the past. And it was scary. I remember, the scourge of drugs was dangerously creeping in and we as government were totally unprepared. There is so much that needs to be done. The menace of drugs has emerged as the most vicious threat to our society. We as a society have to acknowledge that the monster of drugs staring at our faces is real. And that we have to collectively wage a war against it.

Sajad Lone slams introduction of ‘Pro-Elite’ Land Lease Bill, Questions relief for Kashmir's poor Demands answers on Govt land leases while calling out silence in Assembly Peoples Conference President and MLA Handwara Sajad Lone on Wednesday raised serious concerns over the government’s handling of a private member bill seeking extension of expired leases on government land, criticising the administration for allowing its passage without opposition and alleging that it overwhelmingly favours Kashmir’s super elite while excluding the underprivileged. Lone underlined the massive financial stakes involved, stating that the bill pertains to some of the most valuable real estate in Kashmir, which he estimated to be worth between ₹70,000 crore and ₹1 lakh crore or even more. He remarked that the nature of the assets involved makes it evident that the primary beneficiaries are the wealthiest sections, intensifying concerns over equity and intent. While clarifying that he is not opposed to the bill in principle, Lone strongly questioned its selective benefit structure. He drew a sharp contrast between affluent leaseholders and lakhs of poor families who have constructed modest homes on 2 to 3 marlas, or at most a kanal, and continue to face daily uncertainty and administrative pressure without any form of legislative protection. He questioned whether these vulnerable sections, who have remained exposed for decades, do not deserve similar legal safeguards. Raising the issue of transparency, Lone pointed out that key questions he posed in the Assembly remain unanswered, including the total extent of government land leased out in kanals and the actual lease revenue collected from beneficiaries over the years. He termed the silence on these fundamental details deeply concerning, calling for greater accountability and a more inclusive approach to policymaking.

@drdarakhshan — the real probe should start with who is instigating this noise and why. Follow the broker's trail.

The biggest threat to public religious property isn't lack of transparency in Waqf Board — it's middlemen like you who thrive on exactly these murky land transactions.A fox guarding the henhouse doesn't get to demand an investigation into missing chickens.

Yasir Reshi — a known land grabber & broker — is now suddenly crying wolf over Waqf land deals? Before demanding probes, answer this: How many Waqf/government land deals have YOU brokered behind closed doors in Kashmir?

Shocking reports suggest that 150 kanals of Waqf land in Asham, Sumbal, have been leased without public notice, tender, or disclosure of beneficiaries. This raises serious questions on transparency and accountability within the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board. Why are prime Waqf assets being handed out instead of being developed for sustainable community income? Urging Dr Darakhshan Andrabi @drdarakhshan to intervene immediately and stop the alleged misuse of public religious properties.

The JKAS statistically results endorse almost every single word that I uttered on behalf of my party, in the Assembly. I had given statistical presentations earlier on the Facebook. The statistical projections almost overlap. The single biggest problem in reservations still remains in not understanding the structural issues. I will repeat, it is a problem of regional imbalance, perpetuated by an extremely unfair and biased reservation policy. As long as we do not properly diagnose the disease and accept the disease as it exists, no remedy is possible. There are some imperatives if there has to be a way forward. First, a government with some spine. Second, a government which can use the resources and information at its disposal to conduct research and examine and analyse the empirical evidence. They can do a scientific comparative analysis and come up with data backed conclusions detailing which region has been wronged. Governments especially in trying times like when we are a UT, can’t base their recommendations on gossip. Third, a government and a polity which has the intellectual capability to understand the inherent structural imbalances, based on regionalism.

In view of the coming sacred days of Ramzan followed by Eid , I request the Government to grant special causal leave to Kashmir based Muslim employees w.e.f 16/3/ 2026 to 24/ 3/ 2026.. This is a precedent & has been in the practice for the various festivals celebrated both in Jammu region and Kashmir region.

These are contractors of the PHE department in Handwara. They are sitting on a protest for the last two days. It is about pending payments dating back to 2019. Every new Executive Engineer comes in with a new story. And they have been suffering. In a review meeting a few months back I proposed a solution which was accepted by the officers. But again they backtracked. I had raised this issue in the assembly as well. I request @JavedRanaa sahib to please personally look into the matter. Should you wish you could call the officers and the protesting contractors. I would strongly recommend that.

I am finally back after being stranded in the Gulf since Feb 28. I landed two days back. For all those who have loved ones in the Gulf. Things are not as bad as we perceive them here. Day to day life is not impacted. Praying that peace prevails.
