@paulzakkcraig @mollysgooner Jack didnt really separate itself from John until around 40 years ago, so the assumption should have always been that's he was John Jr.

@mollysgooner wowwww something thats only mentioned once in the credits while when you play as jack he will specify his names jack, not John to a few people. Such a silly thing to be like "whaaat people didnt know this?!?!"

@NFitz122020 @CuriosityonX I've never seen an atheist who actually said that outside of a response to a specific religion's claims, and in particular, its adherents' claims about that God's claimed creation. Outside of religion, the existence or non-existence of aliens is irrelevant to the existence of God

@KadenStanton @CuriosityonX I typed that wrong. Atheists will be out a theory on why God doesn't exist. Because it is said that if we aren't unique in this universe then God doesn't exist. They will run to other theories.

What would be the scariest message humanity could receive from outer space?

@NFitz122020 @CuriosityonX Whether we are unique or not, it makes no difference to atheists or deists. It can only affect the credibility of specific religions within the deists.

@KadenStanton @CuriosityonX Atheists don't want to admit that humans are made by God. So they claim that we're not unique in the universe. So they would search harder or make a new theory to bypass the existence of God.

@NFitz122020 @CuriosityonX If we proved that human life was entirely unique, uninterestingly common, or anywhere in between those two points, it wouldn't be proof of anything for both atheists or deists.

@CuriosityonX The sound of nothing. And because of this atheists will scramble to conjure up another theory because we can't possibly be uniquely made in the universe.

@ScottLudlowCA @CTVNews It was not ignored. They originally determined that the beliefs were not sincerely held, this ruling is essentially that no metric is allowed to exist to determine sincerity.

@CTVNews Not surprising at all. Canadian courts have consistently interpreted freedom of religion as including all sincerely held belief - gatekeeping religious exemptions behind religious leaders or organizations is unconstitutional. It's amazing how this keeps getting ignored.

@mirstrikesback @acco_stay @EPM108 Except this conversation goes for several other pages, the main character remains unconvinced by her position, and both the primary and backup crews had women on them.

@acco_stay @EPM108 Yeah but doesn’t it feel like the author is supporting the misogynistic side because he didn’t give the opposing side any good arguments even though they clearly could, and how they pointedly made the misogynistic spokesperson a woman

@Cat_in_a_Bowl @transictus @AndrewHilaryUS What a playwright thinks is inspiring to say is different from the social foundation for real nation-state nationalism. The common soldiers fought for personal wealth, societal expectations, and social standing within the hierarchy of retainers, not their ostensible *country.*
