STATEMENT OF APPRECIATION TO PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU, GCFR, ON THE AWARD OF STRATEGIC CONTRACTS WORTH OVER ₦1 TRILLION AND ₦178 BILLION IN KADUNA STATE
On behalf of the Government and people of Kaduna State, I extend our profound appreciation to His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Federal Executive Council for the gracious approval and award of transformative infrastructure contracts that will indelibly reshape the economic and social landscape of our state.
Foremost among these is the Kaduna Light Rail Project; an ambitious undertaking spanning a 30-kilometre corridor from Rigachikun to Sabon Tasha, alongside a 20-kilometre line from Millennium City to Rigasa, forming a 50-kilometre metropolitan network with an estimated value of One Trillion Naira. Complementing this is the critical reconstruction of the Mando–Kaduna–Birnin Gwari road, a 122-kilometre artery valued at ₦178 billion. Together, these projects represent not merely investments in infrastructure, but a deliberate re-engineering of mobility, security, and economic vitality across Kaduna State.
The Federal Government’s support for the light rail project is both historic and catalytic. It reinforces our vision of an integrated transport ecosystem, anchored by the 24-kilometre Bus Rapid Transit system currently underway. Kaduna has taken a pioneering role in Northern Nigeria by articulating a comprehensive State Transport Policy, one that privileges efficiency, safety, environmental sustainability, and affordability. Through initiatives such as subsidised Compressed Natural Gas buses, modern terminals, and structured transit corridors, we are systematically positioning Kaduna as a premier hub for transportation and logistics.
That Kaduna has been selected to lead this transformation; emerging as only the second state in the federation to embark on a light rail system, speaks to the confidence reposed in our vision and our capacity for execution. It is a testament to a leadership philosophy at the centre that recognises potential, rewards preparedness, and advances development without prejudice.
Equally significant is the rehabilitation of the Mando–Birnin Gwari road, a project imbued with both symbolic and practical importance. I recall, with clarity and respect, Mr. President’s visit to Birnin Gwari in the lead-up to the 2023 general elections, at a time when the area was beset by insecurity and infrastructural neglect. His promise then was unequivocal. Today, that promise is being fulfilled. This road will not only enhance connectivity but also strengthen security, facilitate agricultural productivity, and restore confidence to communities long burdened by isolation.
Kaduna State remains resolute in its commitment to the diligent execution of these projects. We view them not as isolated interventions, but as enduring legacies; foundations upon which a more prosperous, secure, and connected future will be built.
We thank Mr. President for his steadfast commitment to Kaduna State and to the equitable development of our nation.

That Kaduna was described as the heartbeat of Northern Nigeria is both humbling and instructive. It affirms our strategic significance and deepens our resolve to serve as a fulcrum for unity and progress. I am equally grateful for Her Excellency’s gracious recognition of the newly completed and commissioned Brigadier Abba Kyari Banquet Hall as a space dedicated to dialogue and development.
We acknowledge, with gratitude, the steadfast role of our religious leaders in nurturing peace, moral clarity, and social cohesion. As a government, we remain resolute; committed to policies and alliances that uplift our people, strengthen resilience, and advance inclusive, sustainable development across Kaduna State.

EID EL-FITR: “A RENEWAL OF FAITH, A REAFFIRMATION OF UNITY, AND A CALL TO HIGHER PURPOSE”
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
I extend my warmest felicitations and heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim Ummah in Kaduna State, across Nigeria, and around the world, as we celebrate Eid el-Fitr, the blessed festival that marks the completion of the sacred month of Ramadan. With profound gratitude to Almighty Allah, we acknowledge His boundless mercy in granting us the strength, discipline, and spiritual awareness to observe the fast and partake in the deep blessings of this holy period.
Ramadan is far more than a ritual of abstinence; it is a sacred journey of inner renewal. It calls us to a higher consciousness; one rooted in humility, restraint, and devotion. Through fasting, prayer, charity, and reflection, we are reminded of our accountability to Allah and our responsibility to one another. The Qur’an teaches that fasting is prescribed so that we may attain righteousness. Thus, the true essence of Ramadan lies not merely in its observance, but in the transformation it inspires within us: the purification of the heart, the discipline of the self, and the elevation of our moral conduct.
Over the past month, we have sought to embody the enduring virtues of patience, compassion, generosity, and humility. We have experienced hunger and thirst, not only as acts of devotion, but as reminders of the struggles faced by the less privileged among us. We have given in charity, extended kindness to neighbours, and renewed our commitment to justice and mercy. As we celebrate Eid today, we must ensure that these virtues do not recede into memory but remain alive in our daily lives, shaping our actions and guiding our relationships.
This year’s Ramadan carries a unique and powerful symbolism. It coincided with the Christian season of Lent, a rare convergence that underscores the shared spiritual values of sacrifice, repentance, and devotion among people of faith. While Muslims mark the completion of Ramadan with joy and thanksgiving, our Christian brothers and sisters continue their solemn observance. This moment offers a profound opportunity to deepen interfaith understanding, strengthen mutual respect, and reaffirm our commitment to peaceful coexistence.
Kaduna State stands as a testament to the beauty and complexity of diversity. Ours is a land where different cultures, traditions, and religions meet and interact. This diversity must not be a source of division, but a foundation for unity. It calls upon us to embrace tolerance, uphold justice, and work collectively for the common good. Eid el-Fitr, therefore, is not merely a celebration; it is a moment of reflection and renewal; a call to strengthen the bonds that unite us and to build a society anchored in peace and harmony.
The teachings of the Prophet Muhammad SAW (Peace Be Upon Him) remind us that the best among us are those who are most beneficial to others. This timeless guidance compels us to extend the spirit of Ramadan beyond personal devotion into the broader sphere of social responsibility. Our compassion must transcend boundaries, and our actions must reflect a sincere commitment to the welfare of all members of society. When we uphold integrity, fairness, and respect, we lay the foundation for enduring peace and collective progress.
These values continue to guide our administration in Kaduna State. We recognise leadership as a sacred trust; one that demands accountability, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the well-being of our people. Since assuming office, we have prioritised the restoration of peace and security, working closely with security agencies, traditional institutions, and community leaders to ensure that our citizens can live and work in safety and dignity.

With an unyielding sense of responsibility, I visited Kurmin Wali in Kajuru Local Government Area of our dear State, following the cruel abduction of innocent citizens by criminal elements. The visit was to properly identify and be in tune with the community, to listen with empathy, and to reaffirm that the Government of Kaduna State is resolute in its determination to secure the safe and dignified return of all those taken from their homes.
While in Kurmin Wali, I received a comprehensive briefing on the incident from the traditional ruler, His Highness, the Agwam Kufana, Mr. Dauda Titus, alongside community representatives. I addressed residents who gathered in large numbers, not only to welcome us, but to express collective grief, fear, and hope. I also met victims who sustained injuries during the attack and assured them that the Kaduna State Government will provide full medical care and continued support as they recover.
In keeping with our constitutional duty to protect lives and property, I have formally briefed His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on the situation. I also held strategic engagements with the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and the Honourable Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (Rtd). I received firm assurances that all necessary measures are being deployed to secure the release of our people. I further advocated for the establishment of a permanent military base in Kurmin Wali to strengthen security in the community and surrounding areas.
I used this solemn occasion to caution conflict merchants and political opportunists to desist from exploiting the suffering of our people. Such actions undermine unity, weaken trust, and embolden criminality. I thank the people of Kurmin Wali for their resilience, restraint, and confidence in government at this difficult moment.
I reaffirm that Kaduna State remains one indivisible family, united beyond ethnic or religious lines. Our administration will continue to pursue peace, security, and inclusive development. In the coming weeks, construction will commence on a link road and a healthcare centre to improve access and enhance the wellbeing of the community.
Speaking on behalf of the people, the President of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, SOKAPU, Engr. Samuel Tabara, commended our government for compassionate and pragmatic leadership during this difficult defining moment.

As Christians in Kaduna State and across the world mark the Christmas season, I extend warm greetings to our Christian brothers and sisters, and to all citizens of our dear state. Christmas offers an important moment for reflection on values that speak to our shared humanity; peace, compassion, service, and responsibility to one another. It is also an opportunity for us, as a people, to take stock of our collective journey and renew our commitment to building a Kaduna State that is peaceful, inclusive, and focused on the well-being and progress of every citizen.
In the realm of security, our gallant men and women in uniform, working hand in hand with vigilant communities, continue to labour with courage and sacrifice so that peace may reign. Together, we are illuminating dark corners of fear and uncertainty, restoring confidence to our towns and villages. Our administration remains firmly focused on addressing the root causes of conflict through inclusive governance, dialogue, justice, and targeted social protection.
Economically, Kaduna State is rising, like a star ascending in the night sky. Strategic investments in agriculture, infrastructure, transportation, and enterprise development are yielding tangible results. Our farmers are being empowered, our roads are opening new corridors of commerce, and our youth and women are finding renewed pathways to dignity, productivity, and prosperity.
On the social front, our commitment to education, healthcare, and social welfare remains unwavering. We are expanding access to quality education, strengthening primary healthcare, and cushioning the most vulnerable among us. Our vision is clear: a Kaduna where opportunity is not determined by circumstance, but by effort and aspiration.
Kaduna State is richly diverse in faith, culture, and ethnicity. Managed with wisdom, this diversity shines like a constellation; many stars, distinct yet united, forming something far greater than their individual light. We celebrate our differences, knowing they are the threads that weave our common destiny.
As we mark this sacred season, let us follow the guiding light of love, unity, and service. May Kaduna continue to shine as a model of coexistence, stability, and progress.
To our Christian brothers and sisters, I wish you a joyful and blessed Christmas. To all citizens, let us walk together, guided by hope.

Today, I had the honor of receiving the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Yu Dunhai, and the leadership of the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership for a high-level engagement devoted to deepening collaboration in agriculture and investment. This meeting represents not merely another diplomatic courtesy, but a defining stride in our mission to attract transformative partnerships that will strengthen Kaduna State’s position as a continental centre for agricultural and industrial excellence.
At the very convivial meeting, I expressed the profound gratitude of the government and people of Kaduna State to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for our selection as the pilot state for the launch of the Nigeria-China Poultry Project. This choice reaffirms Kaduna’s standing as the agricultural heart of Nigeria. With agriculture contributing 43 percent to our GDP and employing more than 60 percent of our citizens, this partnership will accelerate our pursuit of higher productivity, sustainable growth, food security, and broad-based prosperity.
The Chinese Ambassador, His Excellency Yu Dunhai, commended the remarkable progress unfolding across Kaduna and noted the renewed confidence that has made our state a destination of choice for global investors. The Director-General of the NCSP, Mr. Joseph Tegbe, equally praised our unwavering commitment, reflected in the swift approval and allocation of over 7,000 hectares of land for the project’s immediate take-off.
Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Infrastructure Fund, executed through a Special Purpose Vehicle in partnership with the Chinese Government and Kaduna State Government, construction will begin in December. The Nigeria-China Poultry Project in Kaduna will span 10,000 hectares which will include maize and soybean cultivation to support feedstock production, and will generate an estimated $450 million in revenue, create 50,000 direct jobs, over 300,000 indirect jobs and establish Kaduna’s facility as one of Africa’s largest poultries, producing over one million eggs daily.
We cherish this partnership founded on mutual respect, shared vision, and the promise of enduring prosperity.

This meeting with UNICEF Nigeria marks a defining moment in our shared commitment to safeguard the health and future of Kaduna’s children. The high-powered delegation was led by the UNICEF Nigeria Country Representative, Wafaa Saeed Abdelatef.
The launch of the Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) distribution across our state is a vital step toward ending severe acute malnutrition and ensuring that no child is left behind in the fight for survival and growth.
Our enduring partnership with UNICEF continues to yield transformative results in health, nutrition, education as well as Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). Together, we are translating policy into tangible impact; extending quality healthcare, clean water, and adequate nutrition to families across both urban and rural communities. Programmes such as the RUTF initiative and the Accelerating Sanitation and Water for All (ASWA III) project, for which Kaduna proudly stands as the first and only state so far to key into it in Nigeria; this reflects our broader vision of building resilient, inclusive systems that protect the vulnerable and nurture human capital.
We take great pride in UNICEF’s commendation of Kaduna as the first state to adopt and implement the RUTF initiative, and for our consistency in meeting counterpart funding obligations. This recognition reinforces our administration’s values of transparency, efficiency, and purposeful leadership.
On behalf of the Government and people of Kaduna State, I wish to reiterate my heartfelt gratitude to UNICEF for its steadfast partnership. Together, we will continue to build a Kaduna where every child grows healthy, nourished, and full of promise; a Kaduna defined by equity, dignity, and shared progress.

It was an honor to welcome the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, CON, and the Honourable Minister of State, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, CON together with Commissioners of Agriculture across the States of our nation, on a courtesy visit to Sir Kashim Ibrahim House ahead of the National Council on Agriculture and Food Security convening here in Kaduna. Their presence is both an affirmation and an inspiration; a testament to our administration’s steadfast commitment to agriculture as the foundation of inclusive growth, shared prosperity, and lasting food security.
In their remarks, the Honourable Ministers lauded Kaduna State as a lodestar of agricultural transformation: the first in the federation to launch the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ), and the only state in Northern Nigeria to combine the SAPZ with an Agricultural Quality Assurance Centre (AQAC). During their statewide tour, investors and stakeholders echoed this praise, commending our government’s resolute pursuit of a secure, enabling, and enterprise-friendly environment where innovation and sustainability can take root.
Our vision for agriculture is not abstract policy but lived commitment. We have distributed, free of charge, more than 900 truckloads of fertilizer across all 23 local government areas, a decisive gesture toward empowering smallholder farmers and revitalising rural livelihoods. Moreover, we have raised the agricultural budget allocation from 0.5% to an unprecedented 12.5%, surpassing the Maputo Declaration benchmark and reaffirming that agriculture remains the heartbeat of our development agenda.
We extend profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his transformative leadership and unwavering dedication to national food sufficiency. Kaduna State stands proud to host this year’s National Council on Agriculture and Food Security, and remains fully committed to forging enduring partnerships that will secure Nigeria’s agricultural renaissance.
