@kukuruyo I played an RPG a while ago and it said something along the lines of "All heroes are expected to be attractive on some level, having a high charisma means they are unusually attractive or are able to leverage it better than others." That has been my go to since then.

Working on a DnD game in the setting of my Shiny comic and i'm yet again faced with wanting to solve the issue of Charisma being so many things combined XD Like, according to rules charisma is your social skill, presence, but also your looks, and also "innate power", so to speak (sorcerers, clerics, monsters etc getting their power from it). This creates weird situations like characters with innate powers being always super attractive and social, or monsters who are supposed to be hideous having high charisma scores, and ofc any character who doesn't use charisma being ugly I've never liked this and i prefer attractiveness to be separate from charisma and power, but i've also never liked the "just let players choose how pretty they are" because that's basically just a free ticket to put yourself the highest score (and sometimes even demand bonuses for it). If you can just choose to be the most attractive person in the planet then all player characters are the most attractive person, and who's the most attractive of them? There has to be a measure for this like everything else, especially if you want it to influence the game in some way I want to find some way of allowing players to choose the degree of attractive or ugly the character is, and even have some influence in the game, but in a way that it requires the need to spend something in character creation for it ; not just free; so they don't just all decide to be an 18 in hotness, but also it can't be too much of a spending because really it wouldn't be a useful stat most of the time. It's really a complex issue, no wonder it hasn't been solved in DnD history XD
