@blair_kizza If it's scrapped off, and doing Intern in Gov't hospitals isn't compulsory anymore, I see no reason to fuss about intern payments.
Some Lawyers, Auditors & other professionals are doing Intern with Gov't departments with no payment or allowance.

Expecting intern doctors to be deployed across the country to keep the health system running for free is slavery. Now the Ministry of Health Uganda wants to scrap the 1M UGX ($300) allowance…money that was already barely enough to survive on, but at least helped interns stay afloat
Intern doctors are not volunteers. They still have to pay for:
• Rent
• Food
• Transport
You can’t demand full-time clinical work, 24-hour calls, and responsibility for patients’ lives while expecting young doctors to somehow finance their own survival
