Bro. The gamestate never allowed that to happen. It went to 5-2 not because psg dominated randomly & had control.. But they scored a few world class goals quickly.. Game was still back and forth due to quality.
We had the very best attackers in the world on the pitch together. And a Balon dor striker too.
The very very best in the world. But we did NOT have the best defenders in the world on the pitch today too funny enough.
We had the two very best attacking fullbacks vs the best wingers (Bayern fb vs Bayern wingers). And the other two "okay" fullbacks(Bayern fb) vs the very best wingers(psg wingers).
I think deep down we all know there's more to that game than "defense bad."
I think the clearest thing was that "Quality" was the winner today. We have to be fair. Quality shone through

But I think you know deep down that if PSG set up differently after 5 - 2 then the tie is over.
For entertainment, great but if they go out imo it’s poor game management

I think a lot of the “lack of defending” talk tonight is massively overblown.
Yes it was an open game and at times the shape of both sides were wonky but watch back those goals and most of them are just All World level attackers doing All World level attacking things.

@umirf1 I don’t think it’s a commentary on being better whatsoever only that both are an example of a lack of control. No coach will walk out & be happy to have scored the same they have conceded. It’s not a justification it’s a reason that balance in both areas of the pitch= control.

Tactically, Arsenal are favorites to win this champions league. This game we watched tonight is pure entertainment for the neutrals. End to End. Full attacking game. Problem is that Arsenal won’t attack like this, maybe Man City or Klopp’s Liverpool would, not Arsenal. Arsenal will defend and then score a corner in the 90th. UCL back in London.

If you had the best attackers in the world and we're scoring goals as freely as these two do.. Would you be saying every body is terrible defensively, or would you be saying Arsenals attack is great?
These two literally have Balon dor winner and contenders going bang for bang. Surely you've considered that in your "balance" analysis. You can argue that neither of these teams have the best defenses in the world.. But they have the best attacks.. So how do you think it would end? They both don't have the current best keepers in the world too.. And they both are against the best strikers in the world.
I mean.. There are so many valid reasons. This was a very good game.

Why are football fans viewing football like they are the coach especially watching as a neutral tonight? Certain fanbase are actually taking offense to this game too.
Are you entertained or not? Let's not lie to each other. Everybody knows how football works & how defending can be better etc. But this is what entertainment looked like. Highest order attacking actions being completed. That's why a 0-0 (0 shots on target) with perfect defensive principles being executed by both teams is not a great watch. Either way, you need a mistake, or a good attacking action to get you off your feet. Fans get off their feet when their team is attacking.

I still insist.. Why didn’t Bruno make the pass to Mbeumo instead?? He was very clear and would have scored as well. It would have been a big booster for him. Look how isolated Mbeumo has become lately. A shadow of himself! Mbeumo cannot end the season feeling this way please.

Bruno vs Odegaard as captains
Absolutely nobody talks about Odegaard as a captain. Media say nothing about it. Nobody on the media speak about his leadership. Nothing.
His leadership qualities are the most low key if any. Non existent. Doesn't grab any game. Hasn't saved Arsenal at any stage.
But let Bruno fight for his team, actually lead.. Media turn their noses at it. He's won Utd like 20 points by his contribution. Tops almost every metric in what he's good at. And everything else a midfielder should do. Bruno actually is the last of the old school type captains who have a big voice and also are THAT good.
So why this different narrative? Why can Odegaard be soft but Bruno gets killed for not being soft?

Uncomfortable conversation Michael Olise is better than Lemin Yamal by the way. Olise is pretty much the best at the moment in the world. Look closely. People aren't ready yet. But if you're looking for the best player in the world.. If you're looking for individual talent with high impact for their team overall.. Michael Olise is your Balon D'or winner. Dismantled Madrid (the boogey man of UCL) firmly put them to bed. You can go on. I think by little margins.. Olise has an upper and because Yamal is so young and it definitely shows still. Olise is pretty much that player. No better winger out there currently. And if we all agree Yamal is gold standard.. Olise is pretty much platinum.
