A couple of PMs that I think deserve public answers. I do actually work in tech - I run my own hosting and IR service for authors - but I've always introduced myself as an author. And books are coming, sorry, it's gonna be noisy on my feed. Some of them even include tech ;)

@ZephrFish @Steel_Con @myexploit2600 @_RastaMouse But it was great to see you - and other people - and your talk was great. I think you beat the 12 seconds of last year though, was probably good we weren't armed :P

@ZephrFish @Steel_Con @myexploit2600 @_RastaMouse You do realise that when I said 'oh, if I'm scared, I'll go find Andy', that I basically said 'he's one of my safe people'. I probably should have *asked* first, but given how little I trust people, it was basically me saying I thought you're a good person. Cause you are :D

10 years at @Steel_Con this year and it was a blast as ever, great to see many folks as per. @myexploit2600 and @_RastaMouse always great to catch you both!

@CyberSecAJ @Steel_Con It's usually weird stuff that people say like bets, or whether they're going to do something. Or dares. Or denials. It's *sorta* in jokes, but at the same time, out of context and not seeing them, and having Robin hand stuff out at the start of the con is really funny.

@Steel_Con Context? Maby ive missed something!

Already got as many comments that will be regretted as last year and it is only the day after the con. I might have to start the opening talk earlier next year if this continues.

@_RastaMouse @Steel_Con Yup, they're epic too. But that bowl's perfect for pasta (she says, as she's marrying into an Italian/Scots family).

I did also come up with 6 new book ideas :) Well, sox full ones, there's partials too! Believe me when I say that the context you bring, with an open mind at cybersec talks can be... Inspiring. I found that out at my first Steelcon in 2019 :D

And...as I'm technically hanging out in a limited way on here, while I automatically say that I work in IR, what I really do, my passion, is writing. First two backlist books, Glass Block (sci-fi/cybernoir) and Memento Mori (as @SabrannC ) is my first horror collection 15th July

And now we are home, I normally log out of here till next Bsides, because I agree with a sentiment expressed today about social media. Both the reason I log off, and, in a wierd way, my reason for sorta staying. I never promise I'll be more active, but I will r/t the neat stuff.

But, more importantly, had a great time at talks by @ZephrFish, Shannon Clerkin, Saskia Coplans (not sure if they are on X, feel free to tag if they are!) and saw lots of people, even from as far back as the innagural Cybercamp (I was there!). As ever @digininja & team did brill

The faces and gestures I make are, I'm told, funny, disturbing or a bit of both. But I named four new books this weekend and have an outline for another 2. And maybe one or two cheeky non-fiction numbers too ;)

Long, but really illuminating day at @Steel_Con. Good to see some peeps, missed seeing others, toddlers were absolutely brilliant to see. Enjoyed all of the talks, and parked myself outside Track 2 so I could quickly capture an idea instead of distracting peeps around me

@ScottMcGready I only actually guessed it was you b/c you mentioned the wee one. Was great to see you first thing :)

If you want to know more, I've written about it on typingablank.com (and that book will be coming out soon), but... if I repeat something I was really excited about, and we've talked about in the past....sorry? And sorry I don't remember. It's a source of distress for me.

I'm lucky I got most stuff back, but 2020-2023? Doesn't exist for me. I'm *still* really confused about stuff that went on in the UK then. I'm also lucky - I kept a diaries. I have notes. I might even have photos. But I'm not sure they connect in my head.

So. Gentle reminders so that my blank looks or desperate gaze at Tempus makes sense. In 2023, I had what we thought was a bad migraine. It was. It's still around now. I have a migraine *every* day. But, the worse bit was the time I lost (the thunderclap headaches suck, but)

@ScottMcGready I..uhm... don't. Part of the reason I'm still Tempus' little(ish) shadow is October 2023, I had an incident that led to losing time. Currently, it's 2020-2023, but I had tonnes of diaries, and I think I know which talk we were at :) I apologise I don't remember you tho.

@Kaiberie I remember you from a few years ago at Steelcon (you spoke to me after my talk) and your husband was there. Spotted you last year and meant to say hi but baby had other ideas. Baby is now toddler so will *absolutely* cause havoc on Saturday but would be good to say hello again!
