I'm half-convinced that another goal of this war was to delegitimize the right in America and squander the generational coalition it had assembled for good. If not the goal, it’s certainly a highly likely outcome.

@corymassimino The braindead dumbassery required to look at Trump and decide "yes, this is an anti-war libertarian I wish to support" is staggering, and everyone who supported him should be ashamed.

@MLiamMcCollum Plus since Trump has shown himself to be stupidly opposed to Massie there's no way that Massie's supporters will end up co-opted by an anti-liberty demagogue!

Votes for the Libertarian candidate do not "steal" votes from other candidates to "spoil" an election. Half of Libertarian voters wouldn't vote without a Libertarian candidate, and the other half split evenly.

@GOP_RAC @pollfinity @LP_CLC Have you not paid attention to the expo? I started paying attention in 2016 to that and all the third-party voters when surveyed at expos were asked what would you do when faced with an R/ND only race. 25% would vote R, 25% would vote D, and 50% would abstain.

No, there will not be a struggle session. No one is going to ask for whom you voted in this last election. Everyone is welcome to fight the empire. But you owe it to yourself to be honest about why this all happened. And no it's not all your fault. People can change. 2/x

Maybe instead of funding the TSA ore sending untrained ICE parasites we could go back to whatever it was we were doing in 1999

Okay so like... we do get out of the middle east, but it's because the US government got badly spanked and we no longer have any credibility internationally, which means our hegemony is also over. Which is kinda what I wanted, just... not like this.

I see this happen constantly. Something terrible happens and people blame capitalism. A mother loses her child trying to cross the Mediterranean. She blames capitalism for forcing them to flee. An activist shares her story online and thousands agree: capitalism killed that child. The typical free market defender immediately jumps in with arguments:  “Actually, capitalism is not why your country is poor. It is overregulation and cronyism.” Do you care about people? Because this is completely tone-deaf. This person just lost their child.  Connect with that first. Ask about the child’s name, their story, what dreams that family had. Be human before being an economist. Then later, when the grief is not so raw, we can have a calmer conversation about what actually creates the poverty that drives people to risk those dangerous crossings. I believed in communism once, and I genuinely thought it would help people. I was wrong, but my intentions were good. I changed my mind through running my own business, watching what actually worked versus what sounded good in theory, and paying attention to results instead of ideology. Most people criticizing capitalism are not evil. They see suffering and want it to stop. They have been told capitalism causes that suffering, so of course they oppose it. We win people over by showing we care about the same things they do and then demonstrating that free markets solve the problems better than alternatives.

We'll be back with a plan to reconstitute the libertarian antiwar camp. While we cannot undo the damage of past 4 years, we can start fresh. All libertarians are welcome. Leave your culture wars at the door: Go argue with trans people somewhere else. - Angela

Remember: Trump demanded that Congress not pass the border security bill so that he could continue to screech about Biden's failures.

Similarly, you don't keep getting to electrify your base against immigrants or abortion or guns or any of the other decorative issues that the national politicians like to squawk about.

The SAVE act is a garbage way to solve a problem that doesn't really exist. The ways in which it makes voting less convenient and more expensive for citizens eclipse any notional benefit to election security.
