@corymassimino The braindead dumbassery required to look at Trump and decide "yes, this is an anti-war libertarian I wish to support" is staggering, and everyone who supported him should be ashamed.

@MLiamMcCollum Plus since Trump has shown himself to be stupidly opposed to Massie there's no way that Massie's supporters will end up co-opted by an anti-liberty demagogue!

The Ron Paul Revolution continues with the Thomas Massie campaign!

Votes for the Libertarian candidate do not "steal" votes from other candidates to "spoil" an election.
Half of Libertarian voters wouldn't vote without a Libertarian candidate, and the other half split evenly.

@GOP_RAC @pollfinity @LP_CLC Have you not paid attention to the expo? I started paying attention in 2016 to that and all the third-party voters when surveyed at expos were asked what would you do when faced with an R/ND only race. 25% would vote R, 25% would vote D, and 50% would abstain.

@TomJandron @KurtAlme you think a freshman senator will do anything but toe the party line?

Hey @TomJandron I'm just making sure but like when you're elected you're gonna actually do the job right you're not gonna roll over and rubberstamp the administration or uselessly grandstand like the opposition

I see this happen constantly.
Something terrible happens and people blame capitalism.
A mother loses her child trying to cross the Mediterranean. She blames capitalism for forcing them to flee. An activist shares her story online and thousands agree: capitalism killed that child.
The typical free market defender immediately jumps in with arguments:
“Actually, capitalism is not why your country is poor. It is overregulation and cronyism.”
Do you care about people? Because this is completely tone-deaf.
This person just lost their child.
Connect with that first. Ask about the child’s name, their story, what dreams that family had. Be human before being an economist.
Then later, when the grief is not so raw, we can have a calmer conversation about what actually creates the poverty that drives people to risk those dangerous crossings.
I believed in communism once, and I genuinely thought it would help people.
I was wrong, but my intentions were good.
I changed my mind through running my own business, watching what actually worked versus what sounded good in theory, and paying attention to results instead of ideology.
Most people criticizing capitalism are not evil.
They see suffering and want it to stop. They have been told capitalism causes that suffering, so of course they oppose it.
We win people over by showing we care about the same things they do and then demonstrating that free markets solve the problems better than alternatives.

In the United States car seat laws mandating use until age 8 save 57 lives each year at the cost of about 8,000 births.
