@PunishedAlbert Not that it’s immediately clear how you would surrender to a drone or if such a thing would be even possible

@PunishedAlbert It’s not actually a war crime unless they surrender, which from the video doesn’t seem like he did Killing POWs is a war crime, killing active personnel who happens to be fleeing/retreating in an active war is not

@Kar98kautist Doesn’t Japan have multiple languages or was that just the scripts and writing systems? Come to think of it, I never really thought how the multiple scripts interacted with the actually spoken language. I just always thought every script/writing system also had its own language

@Gynephila @Hi90547230 Unfortunately that’s what happens when ambitious nobles forget their place and start scheming against the monarchy, incidentally it was also the nobility who overthrew the King in Britain (the glorious revolution was also a noble-led revolution)

@KaiserKat04 @Hi90547230 Yes, don't forget it was actually the third estate that supported the divine right of kings, whereas the nobles opposed it.

@Hi90547230 @Gynephila This “the nobility, clergy, and crown were all in cahoots to stop our glorious revolution” is part of an after-the-fact historical revisionism

@Hi90547230 @Gynephila “Class solidarity” is a myth. There was no great alliance between monarchy and nobility. There never was. Historically, the greatest adversary of the nobles was the monarchy. And the bitterest rival of the monarchy were the nobility.

He says that, but then he also has his populist angle where it’s actually the elite who are imposing this anti-Americanness onto Canadians and it’s actually the natural state of Canadians to be pro-American. He’s always trying to reframe the narrative. He’s a control freak.
. 🇨🇦 🌈@gtlem

Canadian Conservative @JJ_McCullough, who lives in BC, says that the Canadian people are "anti-American" & that he (McCullough) will "ALWAYS be on the side of AMERICA" 100%.

@VenusIsChaos @txgermanbre Yeah but the Strait of Hormuz is not controlled (or at least it wasn’t) by a single country like Panama and Suez are so a tolling model didn’t make sense

@wild_one1998 @Wurufu1571 It’s another instance of the phenomenon of “American culture wars that have nothing whatsoever to do with Europe, getting exported to Europe.” and making Europeans dumber for it

Whoever participated in a “No Kings” protest in Europe should be stripped of citizenship and deported to America. And every American expat in Europe who organized and went to them needs to be sent back home and banned from the European continent

@kroketrendang Given that so many of their spells, in fact most of them, are in Latin (so I can only deduce that they were created by romans or Latin-speaking subjects of the Roman Empire) it makes no sense that there would be no Wizarding schools in Italy

I know it's old news but whenever people bring up the world outside Hogwarts I just remember that there's 1 school for the British isles... And the rest of the world looks like this.

@Euro_Med_ @wild_one1998 What shocked me most was the rabid anti-Eastern European and especially anti-polish sentiment in Britain. It especially flared up during the Brexit referendum campaign

For a long time Southern Europeans thought they could work with Germans, Dutch, British, etc, against non-European immigration. Exposure to their right-wing circles destroyed that illusion. They hate Southern and Eastern Europeans more than they hate turks, arabs, and blacks.
🦑@piesse21cm_

When I say northern europeans aren't your friends and you shouldn't worry about what happens to them, I'm not joking, it's not an edgy "joke". They are not brothers. They hate us and we don't do anything about it.

@BagelPolling Also what was stopping China from taking Taiwan all along wasn’t international law, it was US raw might and military projection (it always was, it never was about muh international law). I don’t know if these people are being deliberately disingenuous about reality or if they are

The "post-war international order" was just an illusion created by countries trying out a new way to build empires. Lighter, cheaper, sleeker. It turns out though, light weight empires are also unwieldy and fragile. Peripheral vassals reject the imperial cores demands.
Ben the Seer@MikaelCBernard

There’s really nothing stopping China from taking Taiwan rn. Like literally nothing. The UN has collapsed, international law is over, geopolitical assasinations are legal again, and occupation is cool.
