We celebrate Lei Day as a tradition dating back to 1928, originating from the first lei contest held on May 1st. The celebration stems from a resolution passed by the Hawaiʻi Territorial Legislature in 1923, which acknowledged the hibiscus as the floral emblem of the territory.

Did you know, this local favorite treat can be dated back to Japanese plantation workers in the 19th century? 🤯 You can find this sweet treat at Urban Island Society in SALT and Goldmiss in HMart⭐️
