Did some digging into the high school resumes of this year's All-Americans, and the depth in certain regions is undeniable. Only two states produced All-Americans who didn't win a high school state title: California and New Jersey. New Jersey had one All-American who placed 3rd in the state, while California produced two 3rd-place state medalists who reached the podium. The wildest stat of all? Stanford's Aden Valencia just won a National Championship, despite placing 3rd at the California state tournament. Buchanan High, currently the No. 1-ranked school in the country, has finally secured its third-ever Division I All-American. Branson John (197 lbs) joins an elite, exclusive list of Bears to reach the podium at the highest level. He ends a 14-year drought for the program; the last Buchanan alum to become an All-American was Ryan Flores back in 2012. Before Flores, the trail was blazed by @adamtirapelle, who became the school’s first-ever D1 All-American after winning the National Title in 2001.
