This is the first time in a few years that a projected top-25 pick that was almost certain to go in that range has decided to return to school. And I don't think Mullins will be the last one this year, either.

with the Lakers pick now confirmed at 24, Tankathon has us taking Cameron Carr at that pick. Even with guys like a Morez Johnson Jr, Krivas and Swain still on the board. Would you take Carr at 24? or is it easily a different guy because i think depending on FA, it’s not that bad.

@PistonsMuse Mitchell, Wells, Oso, Spencer, Bona were all available. It’s a failed pick. He needed to hit on that pick after trading up for 37. On top of coming to a team with no assets.

Bobi remains an intriguing prospect, but just fell to Detroit at the wrong time. Never got the chance to properly develop in the NBA as we started winning games.
Would like to see him succeed elsewhere, and I’m sure he’ll get a good shot next season.

@Pistons__Talk Lanier, Klintman, Tolu and Jones should be playing 30 mins. Ron should be shooting 20 shots a game. They can’t afford an injury. Starters all should rest till game 1 of playoffs

Since ASB, he’s scoring 23.4 points on 71.6 TS%, brother.
Over the last 10 games, he’s scoring 25 points a game on 76.5 TS%.
These numbers are unreal. It’s historic efficiency on volume😭

@VinceGoodwill That’s the decision I just don’t agree with. This year in the East the window to the finals is right there. Next year will be much more competitive. Every year with an MVP candidate has to be about maxing out that year, can’t take health for granted

I don’t believe they thought otherwise, I think it was more a desire to see what happens with this group now in the playoffs and then assess big picture later

@Charlottean28 @tyler29646313 Agree with that. If the offense & shooting improves it solves long term SG question. I don't see Trajan moving his 1st pick in DET. The Holland and Ausar combo, on court more often would really change the dynamic. Both just need to be 'average' shooters, with improved handle.

@KaliHBIC @tyler29646313 My pre draft assessment was (and I wasn’t alone on this) he had the highest upside outside the top 3 because he was a potential high level 2-way player. He’s absolutely the long term answer at the 2. I can’t promise he’ll stick there but he’s in the long term plans.

I don’t know if I’ll ever see a less competent Pistons management regime in my life than the one Troy Weaver ran. It was staggering how much he set his players up to fail.
I can say with confidence the Pistons would still be fighting for a top-5 draft pick if he were still here.

@Charlottean28 @tyler29646313 I think it was more just surprise that Holland went 5 when most ‘experts’ had him 9-15. Holland, like Stew is great for this team and an impact beyond stats. I’m more concerned that this team is entering a contending window without a long term SG or PF.

@tyler29646313 @Charlottean28 Trajan to me could have landed Holland later in the 1st. Should have traded down to recoup assets. McCain, Buzelis, Edey, Clingan, Ware, Tyson, Kyshawn probably all hold more league wide value. I just hope Ron can improve the jump shot / offensive game.

@Charlottean28 @KaliHBIC Trajans done a great job at the under the radar marginal moves. Signing Jenkins to a 2 way almost 2 years ago and now he’s a massive piece to the second unit. Could see the same trajectory for Chaz Lanier when Caris is no longer a part of the pistons.

@Charlottean28 Stew was a great pick, just the point was the 5 I listed hold more league wide value than Stew. Doesn’t take away from the value Stew has brought to the team winning the last 2 years. Can even look at Ivey, with Mathurin, Sharpe, JDub right after.
