The ruler of Dubai is Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has been in power since January 2006 after the death of his brother. As of June 2026, he has been in power for about 20 years and 5 months as Ruler of Dubai. My question is, can you also allow Asiwaju rule for 20 years before you make comparison?

"Where is this Reno Omokri who is always showing us clothes at Nigerian airports? Has he ever been to Dubai Airport? There is no comparison between the two, despite Nigeria having more mineral resources than them. I will even buy a ticket for you to visit Dubai Airport so you can make a proper comparison and stop showing us old-fashioned facilities." — Isaac Fayose to Reno Omokri.

Peter Obi need to know that he is from a minority voting bloc, in politics one has to be patient, even a Tinubu that is from a zone that is twice of Obi had to follow the NW particularly to get to where he wanted. SE that PO comes from brings just 8% of votes , with his gragra he can never be president. See the stats (2023) NW- 28% NC- 17% SW- 16% NE- 14% SS- 11% SE-8%

Kwankwaso’s biggest political mistake is not that he is negotiating. Every serious politician negotiates. His real problem is that he is now allowing himself to be dragged into a political arrangement that many Arewa voters see as an insult to their memory, their identity, and their political intelligence. For years, Kwankwaso enjoyed a special kind of goodwill in the North. Even people who did not belong to Kwankwasiyya respected his grassroots strength, his Kano structure, and his ability to mobilize ordinary people. He was seen as a stubborn northern political actor who could bargain from a place of strength. But the moment the conversation shifted to serving as Peter Obi’s running mate, many people began to ask: what exactly is Kwankwaso doing? This is not because northerners hate political alliances. The North has always understood coalition politics. The issue is the symbolism. Peter Obi is not just another politician in the eyes of many northern voters. He carries heavy political baggage among people who still remember the controversies around his time as Anambra governor, including allegations about treatment of northerners, religious tensions, demolitions, and the wider perception that his politics has never shown deep emotional connection with the North. Whether Obi’s supporters like it or not, perception matters in politics. And in the North, perception can become electoral reality very quickly. So when Kwankwaso, who once presented himself as a northern power broker, is now being discussed as Obi’s possible deputy, many Arewa voters are not seeing strategy. They are seeing surrender. They are not seeing alliance. They are seeing political demotion. They are not seeing national unity. They are seeing a man who once wanted to lead Nigeria now preparing to stand behind someone whose movement has repeatedly insulted, mocked, and dismissed northern political relevance. That is why the anger is growing. Kwankwaso spent years building a political image as a man of structure. But this possible Obi arrangement risks reducing him to a regional bargaining chip. It makes him look like a politician who could not expand beyond Kano, could not become the national force he promised, and is now willing to accept second place under a movement that does not even genuinely respect his base. And that is where Atiku Abubakar remains different. Atiku does not need to borrow northern legitimacy from anyone. He already has it. He does not need to pretend to understand coalition politics. He has built national alliances for decades. He understands the North, the South, the economy, the private sector, the political class, and the painful realities of ordinary Nigerians. The 2027 election will not be won by online emotion. It will be won by structure, trust, experience, negotiation, and national acceptability. Kwankwaso may still have loyal supporters, but if he truly agrees to become Obi’s running mate, then he should prepare for the biggest political backlash of his career in Arewa. Because many northern voters will not follow him into a ticket they believe disrespects their political weight. The North is watching. Kano is watching. Arewa is watching. Data is brutal.

Kwankwaso went from the most loved politician in Arewa to the most hated after agreeing to serve as Peter Obi’s vice presidential running mate, a person who is famous for destroying mosques and chasing northerners out of Anambra when he was governor.

Calling Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala “IPOB” because she is Igbo is not politics. It is lazy ethnic profiling dressed as analysis. This is the kind of dangerous nonsense that has poisoned Nigerian politics for too long. A Nigerian can be Igbo without being IPOB. A Nigerian can be Yoruba without being APC. A Nigerian can be Hausa or Fulani without being a northern hegemonist. Serious people judge leaders by record, competence, character, and service, not by the tribe they were born into. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is not a street-level political extremist. She is one of Nigeria’s most respected global technocrats. She has served Nigeria, served Africa, and served the world with distinction. To reduce her name to cheap ethnic suspicion only exposes the poverty of the argument. And that is exactly why an Atiku and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala ticket, if ever considered, would terrify political lightweights. It would combine politics with global credibility, experience with competence, national spread with international respect, and economic understanding with institutional discipline. Atiku Abubakar understands coalition-building. He understands enterprise, job creation, investment, federal balance, and the delicate art of holding Nigeria’s diversity together. Okonjo-Iweala represents economic credibility, global networks, discipline, reform experience, and the kind of reputation that can immediately restore confidence in Nigeria’s economy. That is not an IPOB ticket. That is a competence ticket. Those attacking the idea know the danger it poses to APC and every unserious political formation. They know Atiku already has the national structure, northern strength, southern reach, and opposition experience. Add a globally respected figure like Okonjo-Iweala to that conversation, and the election becomes a battle between competence and propaganda. Nigeria is tired of ethnic blackmail. Nigerians want food, jobs, security, stable currency, serious leadership, and respect abroad again. If your only argument against Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is her tribe, then you have no argument. Atiku represents unity. Ngozi represents competence. Together, even as a political idea, they expose how empty the opposition to them truly is.
