KFR crews are currently on scene of a landscape fire near Peterson creek park in Kamloops BC.

This past weekend, Kamloops Fire Rescue, the RCMP, and Community Safety Officers responded to a report of a dog trapped beneath a dock. The teams acted swiftly to rescue the dog, which was clinging desperately in the cold, fast-moving waters of the Thompson River.

Less than 48 hours after it was launched, a new FireSmart rebate program in #Kamloops has been frozen. Why? It's too successful! The program, offering up to $800 per household, is funded by the city's Climate Action Reserve.

The City of Kamloops Fuel Reduction rebate is live! If you've got cedars within 5 meters of your home, we'll pay you to get rid of them. Offered to the entire city, go to kamloops.ca and book your free FireSmart assessment to get started!

No cedars no problems. If you have cedars within 1.5 meters of your home, it greatly increases the fuel load. Maybe it’s time to remove them. Great job Earls!
