This follows another missed mediation meeting at the NLRC. De Brito’s camp, led by Atty. Rex Enrico Cruz III, has elevated the matter after PNVF officials failed to attend the latest meeting. The claim involves alleged unpaid salaries and incentive bonuses tied to podium finishes. De Brito’s legal team is frustrated that the PNVF is reportedly "verifying" results of medal finishes that are already public knowledge to delay payments. The PNVF reportedly raised working visa concerns, but De Brito’s camp dismissed this as a tactic to "evade liability." The legal team clarified the claim is against the PNVF as an organization, not against individuals like the current PNVF president Tonyboy Liao. The De Brito camp emphasized that this situation reflects poorly on the country’s ability to honor contracts with foreign experts. They argued that if a federation signs a world-class coach to develop a national team, they must fulfill the financial side of that commitment.
