NEW: Houston police fatally shoot suspect who pointed handgun at officer after being ordered to drop pink purse
On March 25, 2026, Houston officers responded after 911 calls reported a suspicious man walking with a pink purse containing a black handgun.
Bodycam and witness accounts show the officer ordered the suspect, identified as Bara’Atef Mohammad AlQudah, to drop the bag multiple times.
AlQudah reached into the bag, pulled out a black handgun, and pointed it at the officer.
The officer opened fire, and AlQudah returned fire while fleeing into a nearby apartment complex.
AlQudah was struck multiple times.
The involved officer was grazed by a bullet but is expected to recover.

NEW: Houston officer exchanges gunfire with suspicious male carrying a pink purse containing a handgun during Glenmont traffic stop Last Wednesday a Houston officer responded to a call about a suspicious man walking with a pink purse containing a black handgun. The officer gave multiple commands to drop the purse. The man ignored them, reached inside, pulled out the handgun, and pointed it at the officer. An exchange of gunfire occurred. The suspect was struck multiple times, ran into a nearby apartment complex, and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The officer was grazed in the right side of his abdomen but was not seriously injured. Bodycam video will be released within 30 days.

@mymixtapez it looked like he accepted death for a second when the truck pulled up everyone knew something was up, 😔😔😔an ran but him, he just stayed here like he wanted to die or he knew it was coming and there was no time to escape.
