Bestselling historical novelist Jeff Shaara joins the WV Book Festival for the 2025 event on Saturday, October 25th at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. Shaara replaces TJ Klune, who recently cancelled his scheduled appearance at the Festival.

All KCPL locations will be closed Saturday, May 24th through Monday, May 26th in honor of Memorial day. Normal operating hours will resume on Tuesday, May 27th.

Due to the upcoming USA Cycling Pro Road Championship in downtown Charleston, the Drive-thru window at KCPL's Main Branch will be closed on Monday, May 19th. All other services will be available at the Main Library.

KCPL's Summer Library Club (SLC) is heading your way! SLC is an 8 week program (May 31 - July 31) for all ages at all KCPL locations. This year's theme is "Color Our World!" Get all the details at kcpls.org/summer-library….

The Main Library Branch in Downtown Charleston will be closed on Sundays beginning May 4th. Sunday hours at Main will return on September 7th.

KCPL will close its Marmet Branch on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 5:00 pm, due to the physical deterioration of the building. To replace library services for the Marmet area, the KCPL Bookmobile will make regular stops at the current site each Thursday, beginning May 8th.
