@CR1337 Real question: should OS layer handle age verification at all? Feels like pushing compliance burden down the stack when it belongs in apps/services. What's the actual use case here?

Two threads occasionally cause incorrect results when updating a shared object, but the bug is hard to reproduce. What Java concurrency problem does this indicate?

@TechByTaraa Java. We're writing native binaries that use AVX512 CPU extensions with no external dependencies ;) Do that with Python.

Who remembers PC gaming in the 1990s? If so, what's your favourite game from this era? ... Gaming like it's the 1990s with a CD-ROM classic everyone keeps recommending, that being the original 1995 RTS (real-time strategy) game, Command & Conquer from Westwood Studios. (cont...)

Moderators of the r/Linux subreddit are now censoring posts which talk about Age Verification. Not only are posts being removed, but I’ve heard from multiple Reddit users who have been banned from r/Linux for expressing opposition to Age Verification.

@SilentTica @craigkellyAFEE For a large field tractor designed (and required) to run for long periods, you would need a battery of around 3-4Mw/h. On a dedicated 3-phase 22 kwh charger, that battery would take 4-6 days to charge ;)

@craigkellyAFEE Didn’t think of that weight good point though. Would need a freakin big heavy battery. Labour and greens just don’t know how to make anything and keep riding on historical coattails of giants before them

Craig Kelly:🇦🇺Foundation for Economic Education
Over recent days, we’ve had absolute morons who clearly failed LEGO in kindergarten arrogantly insisting we should replace diesel fuel with electricity from Chinese solar panels and wind turbines. These clowns run purely on emotions, zero logic, and even less reason. Have these brain-dead activists ever once stopped to think about how much heavier farm equipment and massive harvesters would become if powered by giant battery packs—and how utterly impractical and stupid that would be? Those things would sink like anchors in mud, get hopelessly bogged every five minutes, and turn productive fields into quagmires. Extra thousands of pounds of dead battery weight = more soil compaction, worse traction, and farmers spending half their day digging out instead of harvesting. But sure, keep virtue-signaling your green fantasy while real farmers deal with the catastrophic idiocy you’re pushing. Pathetic. If we want fuel & food security, we need to drill, baby drill. We also should be looking at coal liquefaction - turning coal into liquid fuel. But firstly, we need to scap NET ZERO

@craigkellyAFEE How big of a battery to supply 300 kw/h for 15 hours? This isn't a big tractor or long hours, and this is only one tractor, more than enough to overwhelm the grid. Farmers run on a very low margin of return, so how does one afford such an "upgrade"

@craigkellyAFEE I share your concerns, but I also think that it will soon be possible to build AI-driven machinery with low weight, even using batteries. Nonetheless, humanity will continue to use oil fuels, oil products, and fertilizers for a very long time.

@craigkellyAFEE This looks like a fake. John Deere are beginning to make electric tractors but none released yet. This is nothing like the first version pictured. Further, there is no reason the wheel loading would be any more than a ICE tractor of equivalent power. Check out this picture.
