Our Sunday Sermon today comes from Proverbs 26:4: “Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself."

Earlier today, officials drawn from the KANU Nairobi Branch held their inaugural consultative meeting at KANU Gardens in Nairobi. Led by the Nairobi Branch Chairman Titus Otieno, the officials deliberated on the plans for grassroots elections to inject fresh blood into the party. The officials thereafter addressed the media, outlining their efforts to ensure that the party fields candidates across all the wards in Nairobi.

Kanu Youth Congress executives — Kimani Mbugua and Meshack Kiprotich held a strategic consultative meeting with UDA Secretary General — Hassan Omar to deliberate on youth coalition building and the strengthening of collaboration among government-aligned youth leagues drawn from progressive political parties across the country. The engagement focused on creating a unified platform for young leaders to contribute meaningfully to governance, policy dialogue, national cohesion, and the advancement of youth-centered development within the broad government agenda. Key discussions revolved around political inclusivity, leadership development, and consolidating the voice of young people in national affairs. We are proud that the KANU Youth Congress continues to take the leading initiative in spearheading this important national conversation through its convenership under Kimani Mbugua. The meeting reaffirmed the importance of organized youth participation in governance and marked another significant step toward establishing a strong, coordinated coalition of government-aligned youth movements capable of shaping the future political and socio-economic direction of Kenya.

STATEMENT BY KANU WOMEN CONGRESS ON THE DEGRADING REMARKS BY SEN. KAREN NYAMU We have noted with deep concern the recent insensitive remarks laced with inappropriate undertones made by Senator Karen Nyamu towards a student at the gallery during proceedings on the floor of the Senate. It was a dishonorable display of indignity towards the innocence of childhood by a supposed honorable Senator. The Senate is a hallowed institution and the epitome of the rule of law and must remain a safe, dignified and protected space for children. Equally concerning was the Senator’s hesitation to offer an unqualified and unconditional apology despite clear direction from the Speaker. Public leaders bear a higher moral and ethical responsibility, and accountability must begin with those entrusted with public office. We therefore call upon the Senate to take appropriate disciplinary action and put in place firm measures to ensure dignity and protection for children interacting with public institutions. We must stand up for their rights, protect their dignity and take real action to ensure every woman and girl is safe, respected and able to pursue her dreams. When women rise, Kenya rises. We stand in prayer and solidarity with every family facing loss and uncertainty.
