I am happy to have completed 143 rallies across all districts of Uganda. These were not just rallies but celebrations. People came joyfully with their families. Uganda is now ranked among the five fastest-growing economies in the world, and with oil production coming on stream, we shall move even faster. This is clear progress. I have heard threats of violence from the opposition. I urge Ugandans not to be intimidated. Go out and vote. Anyone who attempts to disrupt our peace will be dealt with firmly. Peace is guaranteed. I also remind our NRM structures at village level to mobilise in small groups. If each leader moves with three others, the numbers will speak for themselves.

4 KOTIDO MUNICIPAL OFFICIALS ARRESTED OVER UGX 1BN ROAD REHABILITATION AND MAINTENANCE FUND @AntiGraft_SH in collaboration with @PoliceUg in Kotido District, have arrested four officials of Kotido Municipal Council on various charges related to the alleged misappropriation of UGX 1 billion meant for the rehabilitation and maintenance of roads within Kotido Municipality. The accused are: Okaja Emmanuel – Town Clerk Okidi Gasper – Senior Civil Engineer Akello Deo Nyanga – Senior Internal Auditor Lokure John Bosco – Assistant Inventory Officer Preliminary investigations reveal that these officials conspired and emblezzled over UGX200Million meant for construction materials for various roads in Kotido Municipality in financial year 2024/2025. The materials include; 1,735.7 trips of gravel, 250 bags of cement, 25 trips of hardcore, and 10 trips of sand. In addition, the Town Clerk and the Senior Civil Engineer are accused of neglecting their official duties by failing to supervise, monitor, and ensure compliance with approved guidelines during the construction and maintenance of several roads. The affected roads include Miresiae–Napawu Road, Morungor–Kotyanga Road, Nangayum–Kawlapei Road, Chairman’s Road, Business Road, and Romrom–Nakutakuwam Road. The suspects are expected to be arraigned before court.
