Anthony Elanga, £55m. 43 games, 3 goals, 1 assist. His only goals have came in ties they’ve lost 5-1 & 8-3. Yet to score a Premier League goal this season. The same one-trick winger everyone saw at United. Jacob Ramsey, £40m. — Newcastle finally got their dream #10 after years of moaning about it... who has delivered a spectacular 3 G/A in 35 appearances. 4 G/A if you count the wonderful pass to Raphinha to cement their biggest European defeat in history. Yoane Wissa, £55m. 21 games, 3 goals, 1 assist. 29-year-old panic buy with a contract ticking down at Brentford, so naturally Newcastle paid £55m when he was out of contract this summer.. Now stuck behind Will Osula in the pecking order & liking Sunderland players posts after doing the double on Newcastle. *Nick Woltemade - £75m. 44 games, 10 goals, 3 assists. The new "star striker" who arrived as the shiny Isak replacement... who now is being played as an #8 and hasn’t scored a league goal since December. Malick Thiaw, £35m. In fairness, more of a goal threat than Wissa & Elanga combined. Started well but part of the defence who has conceded the most goals of any side in Europe’s Top 5 league’s in 2026. Newcastle spent £250m on these five alone last summer, an absolutely pathetic transfer & they’re back playing the PSR deflection tactics on their own supporters to distract from the absolute failure of Eddie Howe & the Sportswashing project. You have had more than enough money, you just spent it horrendously. Victim mentality.
Hayters TV@HaytersTV

"We don't have the revenue of other clubs… the rules have made it very difficult." 👀 "I don't know a team that wouldn't suffer from that." 😳 "Losing Alex [Isak] last summer was a considerable blow." 😓 Pressure mounts on Eddie Howe after defeat in the Tyne-Wear derby 😬

@Phassymohe @Russell_Ayles @UtdMicah And which of those smaller teams have been able to get everything right ? And achieve anything of significance. Dormund went out to Atalanta in CL. In general Brighton use a lot of data. What have they achieved ? Not even CL qualification

@KaransWords @Russell_Ayles @UtdMicah Smaller teams compensate for this by crunching the numbers and relying on statistics, how well they fit etc, same reason why Dortmund and the likes can put up some semblance of a fight in Europe atimes

@Phassymohe @Russell_Ayles @UtdMicah We couldnt get our first choice targets as we couldnt offer the wages. So its still about the money. Its funny when Big6 fans expect us to be perfect in the transfer market without being able to buy proven players. We wanted Guehi Semenyo Ekitike Mbuemo JPedro Sesko.

@Russell_Ayles @UtdMicah Then maybe, just maybe , act more carefully when you venture into the transfer market no? You don't have the rebound of big clubs but you want to act like them in the transfer window...why not do actual research before signing players like Wissa or Elanga for ridiculous prices?

@P8mme @TheIrishMagpie We are treading a dangerous line. A new manager may have a completely different style of play and would need resources.

I'm still backing Eddie Howe. Others are losing faith rapidly or they have lost it completely. I understand that, but Howe will be afforded this slump given the current situation the team is in. Another aspect to wanting rid of a current manager is asking "Who replaces him?" With a brand new manager, they will be afforded time to settle and to get the team right. Which means we're back where we started. I feel like Howe is learning from defeats, losing leads, and performances. I'm confident that he can find the answers that this team so badly needs. 🙏 #nufc #eddiehowe

@P8mme @TheIrishMagpie Sacking him isnt pointless. I would give him another season. The SD needs to take calls and get players and Howe needs to be able to adapt. Howe cant have as much say on transfers.

It’s possible we are, I get the concern but also believe many are over reacting. We are 3 points worse off than last season. We were wasteful against Man U, no way should we have lost that game, Chelsea we battered but again we’re wasteful first half. We had a similar situation last season, missing big chances that cost us games, then went on a crazy run of 9 wins (scoring loads and conceding very few). The next few games could be critical for Howe now if we lose any I think he could be in trouble because the board wont want him to spend in January if they have concerns. But i back him to get it right.

👍🏻 Progress isn’t linear. I agree he will be learning plenty from the issues we have faced. We have had similar issues other seasons where players have missed chances and it’s cost us, to be at the top end of the table you need to be clinical. We will find it at some point. It could have been the turning point vs Chelsea tbh as we should have been 4 maybe 5 up at HT but sadly we missed the chances and they fought back.

@CoachMeron Does he have players who can play a IP heavy style. I believe they would need to be more creative. As of now I feel most of our players have better OOP attributes. Also, if the SD did get some different type of players, would EH be able to integrate them ? Like Woltemade

For those that are “Howe out”… — I don’t see the benefit of changing manager while we’re still playing twice a week, with no real training time, and a January window around the corner. — Personally think he deserves until the end of the season unless things go really bad. Don’t think we’ll get CL now and Europe is still possible. — My main concerns:
a) Can he manage a team competing in Europe?
b) Can he evolve our style of play in-possession? He has the rest of the season to answer those questions. If Howe doesn’t and also doesn’t secure Europe, I don’t think the owners will be patient in the summer. #NUFC

Not enough focus is put on our recruitment team for this Summer. We managed to spend 440 million and we made ourselves worse So how have the signings done so far taking into account expectations for them 👇 -Ekitike 7/10 -Isak 2/10 -Wirtz 4/10 -Kerkez 2/10 -Frimpong 1/10 -Mamardashvili 4/10 -Leoni (not rating due to injury) That's disastrous some signings take time but not all of them. Only Ekitike has performed and he has tailed off lately. On top of that they sold the best left winger in world football rather than give him a new contract. Hughes and Edwards have a lot of questions to answer, can't be all pinned on Slot 👍

@helixafc @LFCApproved I dont think prioritizing the cup, and risk throwing away PL and CL would please LPool fans. With a small squad, its one or the other. Feel Slot made the right choice. He needs time to build squad.

That’s clearly an agreement within the club to throw the cup game. So no complaints.

@FabrizioRomano Liverpool do have poor squad depth to be fair. With Isak injured, Chiesa injury prone, its left to Salah Ekitike and Gakpo. I know they spent a lot this summer, but perhaps that was always the plan. They wanted quality not quantity. Quantity will come slowly ovr 2 transfr windows

@AnfieldEdition @adjones_journo Mental the amount of people seemingly writing him off or asking dense questions about why we even signed him haha, once this lads fit and the TEAM starts to really click/gel properly, he’ll be an absolute superstar in this side & that’s not an opinion, it’s a fact!

Arne Slot has called Newcastle United a small club after Alexander Isak picked up a groin injury at Liverpool Comes across to me like he blames Newcastle for Isak not doing well so far, incredibly entitled and lack of responsibility shown ❌ #NUFC

@ToonMouthTyne Before the international break we should have him play just 20 to 30 mins in total. Not worth the risk. I feel CL games are easier physically. Tackles fly in the PL, specially at Brentford with the history

@ToonMouthTyne @stv_ncl Possible. But I feel we are being charged the rate of a world class player today and not one who has that potential to fullfil 3 years later. For example, I feel Wharton is ahead of him. I would rather Wharton for 90m than Anderson for 75m.
