If I can borrow your ear for just a moment, I'd like to tell you a story about some extreme government corruption happening in my state, Michigan, right now. One where the federal government accepted money in exchange for a favor and stepped in to disrupt international commerce to protect the interests of a single billionaire donor at the expense of American consumers and business owners. I'll keep it brief, here are the highlights. Canada worked with the state of Michigan to construct a new bridge, the Gordie Howe International bridge, that would make trade between the US and Canada much much more efficient. Previously, there was just one bridge being used for this purpose, the Ambassador Bridge, and that bridge is awful. It gets backed up terribly, it slows down trade and delivery dates. But the bridge is owned by billionaire Matthew Moroun. Now, Canada offered to cover the entire cost of building the bridge AND allow the state of Michigan to co-own the bridge and they would jointly operate the bridge to facilitate the faster transfer of goods at more reasonable prices and create more competition for the billionaires facilitating trade. Now, this billionaire Mr. Moroun did not like this. In fact, he called up U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, yeah the one who is all over the Epstein files and lied about breaking ties with Epstein in 2003 but then is documented being friends with Epstein and even visiting his island for another 15 years straight after that. Mr. Moroun reminded Lutnick that he had donated over $600,000 to Donald Trump and demanded that he return the favor. Guys... not two hours after this conversation Trump posts on Truth Social saying he's going to shut down the bridge project unless Canada meet a list of impossible demands. Even after they paid for the whole thing, contracted numerous American contractors and put them to work, gave them jobs, paid them handsomely. The executive branch of the federal government stepped into State business that didn't concern them and threw a MASSIVE wrench in the plan to protect the interests of a single billionaire donor at the expense of working class people. When I say this is the singular most corrupt administration in the history of our nation, know that I absolutely mean it and the evidence isn't even being hidden. It's in plain sight. So remember the cost of "owning the libs" was signing away your own freedoms and protections and making life harder for our children and future generations by solidifying the influence of the elites at the expense of democracy.
