Today is so much more to me than “African Print Day.” Today I wear the dress I was given as a token of appreciation from teachers at a school in Ghana that I had the privilege of working with. So many memories I hold onto from this experience. 🇬🇭

I am so worried about the number of teachers leaving the profession, the lack of college students entering the field, and the effect of having substitutes for an entire year in many classrooms across the nation. It will get a lot worse before we see change. #crisisineducation

It breaks my heart to say this, but I updated my resume for the first time in 18 years and I'm exploring my opportunities outside of teaching. I have thought about switching careers in the past, but never to this degree. I am not leaving yet, but I wonder how many can relate?
