Going on your spiritual journey, your journey of growth, or your journey to find yourself, is never easy. It comes with a LOT of roadbumps and breakdowns. However, the result of the journey WILL be worth it. Never be complacent with where you are in life, always try to grow. <3

Sometimes I see singles or married couples without kids talking about how they would never want to “give up their weekends.” But what they never talk about is what you *get* when you make that “trade” for marriage and kids. We were up bright at and early today, as a whole family, and off to soccer for my two oldest boys. They love it. It’s pushing them, physically and mentally, and as a dad it’s such a joy to see them having fun and developing. Then after soccer we all went to—you guessed it—Costco. Ate lunch in the food court. And yeah, it’s crowded, and the tables are small, but sitting there with my family, my wife, my three boys, and our fourth almost here, it was a blast. I loved it. Finally, we popped into a locally owned comic book/action figure/trading card store. Yeah, my weekends aren’t mine. Haven’t been for a long time now. But they are full of life, laughter, and sometimes crying kids (the three year old broke down leaving the comic book store because it’s past his nap time). Would I trade any of this for more “freedom” to indulge a different lifestyle? Not for a second. Get married. Have kids. Enjoy a full life together. What you get in return is far more than you give up.

Hormonal Birth control causes blood clots, stroke, heart attack, cancer, and depression. Vasectomies cause frontotemporal dementia and Primary Progressive Aphasia. Contraception and sterilization double your likelihood of divorce. The more children a woman has, the more stem cells she keeps in her body, the better her tissue repair, immune system support, neurological tissue, and the lower her instance of degenerative disease. Men who have children have lower rates of heart disease, anxiety, and depression, and a longer life span. God’s law is reflected in the law of nature. Follow His teachings and you will live a healthier and happier life.

It was 8 PM on a Friday, and my partner was dead asleep on the living room sofa, still in his work clothes. I was on FaceTime with a friend who was getting ready for a massive night out. She asked what my weekend plans were, and I flipped the camera to show him resting. She sighed, doing her makeup. “Girl, doesn't it bother you? You’re young, it's Friday, and you're just watching a man sleep. You deserve the princess treatment. If he really wanted to take you out and show you off, he would.” I looked at him. I looked at the dark circles under his eyes and the laptop still open on the coffee table. What my friend didn’t see was that earlier that week, he had quietly taken over two of my biggest bills so I could afford to take a lower-paying job that I actually loved. He had been pulling 14-hour days for months, absorbing all the financial pressure so I could finally breathe. I didn’t argue with her. I just calmly said, “He is giving me the soft life. The soft life is me waking up without panic because he goes to war every single day. I’m not going to punish him for returning from that war exhausted.” The line got quiet. I told her to have fun, hung up, and draped a blanket over him. The internet has completely warped our idea of what love looks like. It has convinced women that "princess treatment" means endless aesthetic dates, constant entertainment, and a partner who operates with infinite energy. But a man cannot simultaneously be in the trenches securing your absolute safety, and have the carefree energy of a guy with zero responsibilities. I realized that night: The ultimate luxury isn't a man who takes you out to be seen. It’s a man who makes your life so incredibly secure that fiercely protecting his rest becomes your biggest priority.

We were at a family gathering and someone made one of those tired jokes like, “Enjoy it now, marriage changes everything.” Before I could even react, my husband smiled and said, “Yeah, it does change everything. It makes it better.” The room went quiet for a second. He added, “I don’t feel trapped. I feel chosen. Every day I wake up knowing I get to do life with the love of my life. That’s not a loss—that’s a blessing.” I just stood there pretending to focus on my plate because my eyes were starting to water. People love to talk about marriage like it’s the end of freedom. But the way he talks about it?
Like it’s the greatest decision he ever made. And that means everything to me.

If you don’t love talking to them, don’t marry them. You need that burning, almost childish urge to tell them about the strange dog at the bus stop, how you almost tripped at the corner, or just to laugh about how terrible the breakfast was. Because life eventually gets enormously boring, and the right person makes even the mundane moments worth sharing.

Gender roles are great imo because if my husband and I were out and a weird person approached us... I don't want to be the one responsible for fending them off 😂

Habits that have a high rate of return in life: - sleeping 8+ hours each day - lifting weights 3x week - going for a walk each day - saving at least 10 percent of your income - reading every day - drinking more water and less of everything else - leaving your phone in another room while you work

One night I asked my mom how she knew my dad was “the one.” She didn’t say butterflies. She didn’t say grand gestures. She said, “There was a year I wasn’t okay.” She told me after I was born, she felt overwhelmed all the time. She stopped talking as much. Stopped laughing as loudly. She said she felt guilty for not being her usual self. And my dad didn’t demand the “old her” back. He just started doing small things. He would wake up earlier to pack her lunch. He’d fold the laundry without announcing it. He’d sit beside her on the couch and just hold her hand without asking a single question. She said one night she finally cried and told him she felt like she was failing at everything. He didn’t interrupt. Didn’t give a motivational speech. Didn’t say “but you have so much to be grateful for.” He just listened. And the next week? He didn’t treat her like she was fragile. Didn’t bring it up during arguments. Didn’t use it as proof that she was “too emotional.” He loved her the same. Calm. Steady. Normal. My mom looked at me and said, “That’s when I knew. Love isn’t the loud days. It’s who stays gentle on the quiet ones.” And suddenly their 20+ years together made sense. Real love doesn’t panic when you’re not at your best. It adjusts. It waits. It stays.

It's just a little bit of chlorine in your water. It's just a little bit of heavy metals in your food. It's just a little bit of fragrance in your perfume. It's just a little bit of benzene in your sunscreen. It's just a little bit of aluminum in your deodorant. It's just a little bit of PFOA's in your nonstick pans. It's just a little bit of phthalates in your plastic toys. It's just a little bit of methanol in your surface cleaner. It's just a little bit of artificial coloring in your toothpaste. It's just a little bit of ammonia in your sugar-free sweetener. It's just a little bit of propylene glycol in your skincare products. It's just a little bit of sodium lauryl sulfate in your laundry detergent. When does "just a little bit" become too much for the body to handle?

Your grandma didn't need a fertility clinic. She also didn't eat seed oils at every meal, intermittent fast everyday, sit under artificial light until midnight or or spend 10 hours a day sitting at a desk. She wasn't stressed about her career while undereating to stay thin. She didn't spend 10 years on birth control. She didn't have access to fast, convenient food. Everything was prepared at home with intention. She ate real food, slept when it was dark, and moved her body through daily life rather than 60 minutes on a Pelaton. Modern infertility is largely a modern lifestyle problem. The solution isn't always more medicine. Sometimes it's less modernity.

The average phone screen time for adults is 5.5 hours. You read that right. HOURS. I downloaded an app that helps me. It tells you which apps you're spending the most time on and you can set limits. It's an EYE opener for sure. But I'm working on decreasing my phone time.
