@Karmancer

I Notice Things, Yet Know Nothing. My job is to think for people who won't, my hobby is thinking about things I don't know. This is my dressing room of ideas.

People are hypocritical and inconsistent in the application of their standards. Counterpoint: I can use the services of a plumber and not want to date, marry, or even be friends with them. If sex work is work, this is no different than eating cheese but not wanting to marry the farmer.

Genuine question & I want people to actually think about this…and I’m not trying to start an outrage, I’m just a woman who notices patterns. Why do so many men feel comfortable being LOUDLY judgmental about women in sex work when statistically, THEY are the primary consumers of it? Every man I’ve ever met has had some version of: I would never date a pornstar, OF girl, or stripper…and okay, that’s valid, that’s your personal choice & your life…I do not care who anyone chooses to marry. And you do not have to respect her profession. BUT…you’re watching, you’re paying, you’re subscribing…statistically, 85% of you have at some point in your life…and then you go out in public (online too) & act disgusted by her existence? That’s not preference, that’s not a standard, that’s just projection. Because you’re not necessarily disgusted by HER, you’re disgusted by the part of yourself that keeps coming back. She didn’t create the demand…you are the demand & deep down you know that. So, the question was never really: how could a woman do that? The real question is: why is it so easy to shame the supply & never once examine the demand? At some point the man who consumes it & the man who condemns it have to realize that they’re the same man. p.s. — I’m not promoting or endorsing sex work. I’m not a participant & I have no personal stake in this. I’m simply doing what I do…noticing things.

@unkonfined Replying to any post with curiosity and intelligence is how you attract genuine interest. Attention is a precious finite resource, this is the public market place of ideas. If you don't like interaction and cross pollination, you should be writing a book instead of posts.

@lapislagoons We don't always get what we want or deserve. (Good Luck!) You'll probably survive, and if you have to complain your way through, you gotta do what it takes.

@justabdulraouf Corporations are mostly honest about what they want from you, they can be sneaky in their goals. The true enemy is government who claims to be working for your interests but they are just the butcher fattening you for the slaughter.

@justabdulraouf Attention is the only currency you truly own. You must spend all of it before you die, choose wisely, but it is spent constantly so don't be afraid to focus on what you want to see more of. It's usually easier to spot what you are actively looking for.

@justabdulraouf You have to love yourself and your own words first. I try to entertain myself and make productive or funny comments on other people's opinions, but this place will make you feel lonely in a crowd.

@justabdulraouf @ankkala It's a dopamine deprivation chamber for small accounts. Imagine going viral and then never being satisfied with a handful of likes- there's true horror. Even though this platform is advertised as a public billboard, it's healthier to treat it like passing notes at the mall.

I'm a fan of a lot of trad architectural styles, often because the remaining examples are good architecture. I also like modern stuff when it too is good architecture. But I've been noticing a lot of the "why can't we have beauty like we used to" people just have awful taste.

the terrible irony that Ayn Rand's two most famous books are centred around the decidedly un-trad topic of modern architecture and the un-American idea of high-speed rail 😂
