Chrissy looked back up at him again, her hand lingering for half a second before dropping back to her side.
“And for the record,” she added gently, meeting his eyes, “I meant every word.”

Her eyes drifted down as she was talking, and suddenly she paused mid-sentence.
“Oh—hold on.”
She reached up without thinking, brushing at his shoulder. A tiny bit of fluff clung stubbornly to the fabric of his shirt. Her fingers flicked it away with a quick, careful motion.
