The 1st crop at @WayCoolFoods Outgrow Agri Research Station coming along well. Castor has been planted as one of the trap crops for pests. Thus far, there has been no need to use any chemical pesticides.

The land was very rocky. 2 JCBs worked for 20 days to remove the rocks and create bunds with them. But since the farm was virgin, the team could lay out a compact water harvesting grid to recharge the pond. The same grid carries the fertigation lines as well, saving space.

The solar panels are pond-top. They cover the farm pond. Intent is to reduce evaporative loss, minimise algal growth which may choke pumps and also avoid using fertile land for the panels. The pond also has over 500 fish which help clean the water...
