🚨 Sticky Words Sunday 🚨 Corner Crash Last season, the Celtics hedged their poor shooting nights with offensive rebounding. In particular, the corner crash. They did this to gain EXTRA POSSESSIONS. Sending an extra player to the glass + shooting a healthy diet of catch and shoot 3s is, statistically, nearly impossible to beat. Most spacing templates have corner spacing. SEND THEM TO THE GLASS: 1. Attack in-between the smile and the nail, NOT AT THE RIM. Most rebounds will fall in this area. 2. Never attack baseline side of a box out. 3. Tip the ball out if it can't be grabbed. 4. Timing should allow the offensive player to run, not walk to the rebound. This also allows momentum to get back quicker if the rebound isn't secured. 5. The shooters' man MUST GET BACK. There is give and take with sending 3-4 to the hoop. The give is obviously the potential to give up transition points. The CORNER CRASH is disruptive and demoralizing due to how high the PPP is on an offensive board. 👇🏼
