@RyanFieldABC This is not a good take. Cavs would have come out with a different focus had they lost game 5. And no guarantee Pistons would have been as hungry if they won game 5. I’m saying this as a Pistons fan.
English

@mzpincali Nobody said the Cavs don’t foul, but when you watch the game you will clearly see one team fouling way more than the other
English

@Charlottean28 Thank you. A lot of Detroit sports media were over confident after game 2.
Agree with you completely. This is the playoffs, let it all play out.
English

@JimCosta_ @Charlottean28 Through 5 games, Bane is shooting 38% and 18.8 ppg in the series. Tobias is at 48% and 19.8 ppg.
English

@Charlottean28 Or 54% from FT
And I was talking strictly from a scoring standpoint
English

No Wagner so the door is wideeeee open
But tonight is where I'm stuck. Can't expect a Cade repeat. Magic cast provides a greater scoring lift around their star
Bane > Tobias (On a bad ankle)
Carter > Duren (This series)
Suggs > Ausar
Think it ends here
#DetroitBasketball
English

@Charlottean28 You were down on Duren years back, I recall. You might be right.
English

@balldontstop Tim Hardaway (34% shooting) and Beasley (37%) were awful in playoffs last year for the Pistons. There’s a reason we got rid of them. We need PLAYOFF bucket getters.
English

@Charlottean28 Between Huerter, Green, Levert, you need to pick 2 to play. Can’t play all 3 of them. Preferably Levert. Don’t like JB playing so many guys in the playoffs.
English

@DetroitKoolAid @WoodwardPistons @woodwardsports 1) Tobias can’t guard Paulo. They will need Ausar/Beef stew on him to slow him down.
2) Starters must step up. JB also can’t play a bunch of guys like he did in the regular season. 8-9 guys max should get all the minutes
3) Magic are packing paint. Our 3s need to fall.

What’s the game 2 strategy for a Detroit Pistons bounce back win over the Orlando Magic??
Pistons lost 112-101 to the Orlando Magic in the game 1 of the first round playoff series. The Magic are the healthiest they’ve been all season in which Franz Wagner missed almost 50 games due to injury. Now? The team is complete and playing a little better than their 8th seed positioning would suggest.
And in game 1 versus the Pistons the Magic hope a statement was sent. That they won’t be an easy out, or just willingly go along with the narrative that Cade Cunningham and the Pistons have passed them by.
But for the Pistons, they just didn’t look like themselves. They lost the points on paint battle, in addition to steals, turnovers, and rebounds. Another area the Magic outpaced the a Pistons was in urgency.
One team looked like it was competing at playoff level, and the other appeared to be in regular season form.
The three areas of improvement for the Pistons as they seek a game 2 series equalizer:
1. PLAY WITH SENSE OF URGENCY!
2. MORE FROM JALEN DUREN.
3. MORE CUTS, MOVEMENT AND MOTION FROM THE OFFENSE
*BONUS KEY: FIND A WAY TO PLAY PAUL “BBALL PAUL” REED!
English

@Keith_Langlois Our fans thought we were disrespected as the one seed. Win or lose this game, I think we will win the series. But that’s when you get respect, winning a series.
English

@971theticketxyt Not respected highly yet because they haven’t WON a playoff SERIES in years. If they won a round or 2 last year & didn’t get respect as top seed this year, I’d get it. Let the playoffs play out. Who cares what others think? Let their game speak for playoffs. #DetroitvsEverybody
English

@AriWagner_ Opportunity to win, especially as a 1 seed is now. Agree that windows can close quickly. Suns were within 2 wins of a chip in 2021. Then won 64 games and 1 seed in 2022. Made some bad trades and are now a lower seeded playoff in the west.
English

The Pistons have a rare window… youth, internal growth and a slightly watered-down East, but it won’t last.
Pacers reload with Healthy Haliburton and Zubac and maybe AJ Dybantsa. Cavs get a full summer with Harden, Celtics reset with a healthy Tatum. Knicks, Hawks, Hornets keep climbing and Wizards develop with Trae and AD. The East is coming fast. Detroit should capitalize now while our rise is ahead of the curve.
English

@rvpats1212 @LegionHoops @Fullcourtpass trust me their game doesn’t translate to the playoffs… counts to much on getting foul calls and not having to play through physical defense
English

Jalen Duren seemingly asked JB Bickerstaff to skip shaking hands with the Hornets tonight.
This rivalry is exactly what the NBA needs. (h/t @Fullcourtpass)

@Charlottean28 @IAmEricVincent Which is why Billups (as clear leader and best player) is so impressive in the fact that he still lead his squad to as far as he got with Ben in 2006, in 2 seasons w/o him. Ben defensive force, no doubt. But Billups was the engine, controlled pace, timely shots & a good defender
English

@Kash_Q @IAmEricVincent Ben physically had exactly one good year in him when he left and that was it. He wasn’t the same guy at 34+ and everyone knew he wouldn’t be, which is why they didn’t pay him. Billups was younger and had more left in the tank.
English

I’ve always said Chauncey but this team was so well balanced all 5 of these players have a legit case #Pistons
Vintage Hoops@VintageHoops
Who was the best player on this team? 🤔
English

@Charlottean28 @IAmEricVincent I would say they made it to the exact same ECF in 2007&2008 with an aging squad that you pointed out w/o B Wallace and w/ Billups. What did Ben do after he left? Nothing. What did Billups do? Help Melo get to within 2 games of the finals in a loaded west; furthest Melo ever went.
English

@Kash_Q @IAmEricVincent I would say I don’t know how they made it to the ECF in 2006 as bad as chancery was in the 2nd round
English

@Charlottean28 @IAmEricVincent Maybe. But if we lost Chauncey in 06 and replaced with an avg pt guard, we aren’t making conference finals back to back years with Ben Wallace and the rest of the guys.
English

@Kash_Q @IAmEricVincent That was as much about losing Chauncey as it was adding Iverson. The whole team was too old at that point anyway. The Bad Boys losing Vinnie Johnson wasn’t why they got bounced in the first round.
